                   he’s on the lab floor, legs sprawled in front of him a position he’d only meant to take in order to stretch but he’d once again gotten distracted. there are few things in this world that can take his attention away from the mass of cords and wires set out before him,  the metal paneling split open before him has left him with extra bits, but oh, he can’t help but shift from to steal glances at her, even as he tries to piece his precious machine back together.   “ you uh . . .  you don’t have to stand way over there you know. . . i made sure to shut it down this time. ”    he flashes a grin her way, shifting as if he’s making room on the floor beside him.   “ come on... i’m just getting to the fun part and i could uh . . . use some extra hands. ”   he lifts his hands in front of him, wiggling his fingers slightly as if to emphasize his point. 

                 “ you hear what you are saying right? ” the woman said, leaning her forearms against the table in front of her. “ i want to sure you hear it, like really hear it, because honestly you’re starting to sound like a crazy person.  ”  alec was full of interesting ideas from the moment she met him, but abby was pretty sure this one took the cake.

The world stretching out in front of them looked purely like Hell on Earth. Alice stood there, watching helplessly, as soldiers fought monstrosities of all shapes and sizes. How could it have gotten this bad? She had been so far from this kind of devastation while out in the desert, then traveling to Alaska...when she returned to Lose Angeles, she got a taste of how bad it had been in the major cities, but this?

This was something else entirely.

Her skin crawled as her body was no longer her own, anger still simmering within her at how Wesker played her only moments before. While the others broke away to discuss plans with the generals in place, she turned to the blond. 

       “  you seem to know my name, but i don’t know yours.  “ she raises an eyebrow, patiently waiting for his answer. it doesn’t really ... surprise her that her name has gone around, though it does make her mildly worried. if her name is going around, then alistair may have heard about her and gone further into hiding. and that would make it very hard for her to find him. but that’d be a problem for another day.

     “  don’t give me that look, alec.  “  she doesn’t have to look up to know, considering she feels his eyes burning holes into the side of her head. zatanna does look at him, however, and raises an eyebrow back at him. “  i’m aware it’s a bad decision. and no, i won’t change my mind.  “
