A Reflection, a Remembrance & an Anticipation
Megaaaaaaaaaaan! Emilyyyyyy!
I finally have decent WiFi! *cries* I've uploaded two videos, one of which is currently being processed on YouTube. I never thought I'd be so happy to be able to upload things in my life.
I can't believe the semester is so close to ending. Soon, I'll be saying goodbye to Bath just as you two rapscallions head across the pond for an adventure of your own. We didn't have much preparation (two meetings was all), and what a journey it's turned out to be! I don't want to leave yet, but I know I'll be glad to get back to Nashville.
Registration went pretty smoothly for me: I'll be taking Poetry as Genre, Cell & Genetics, Intro to Creative Writing, Survey of English Lit I, and Story of Israel. It's a lighter schedule than I was anticipating, but a busy one nonetheless, especially when you include the hours I will hopefully be working/volunteering.
This past semester, I've only taken one class that meets in a physical classroom. The others have either been Cross-Cultural Experience or online (Jane Austen, French Lit, and PE). I, too, have five-day weekends, which is relatively normal among Lipscomb Global Learners.
So many things are going on in the realm of fandoms, and I've been gone so much that I've missed out! I completely forgot that Thor: The Dark World comes out tomorrow (with Christopher Eccleston as the villain *scrEEAAAMms*), and SHERLOCK.
We might be able to watch it together.
I don't think my emotions can handle the 50th Anniversary. I watched part of "Vampires of Venice" on the train from Bristol to Bath (they actually had it playing in the tiny TV screens in the back of the chairs) and felt all of the things at the sight of Matt Smith's floppy season 5 hair.
On a more serious note, though, dearest Megan, I really do hope that everything at home works out. *hugs* The anticipation is always the hardest part. Once you're over here, you may miss home from time to time—I miss you guys, my family, and the rest of our friends—but you won't regret going. You'll be in the land of Union flags and breakfast tea, the land whose inhabitants know they captivate the world and are quite tongue-in-cheek about it, and you will love it. Good luck with your exam!
Emily, my barricade girl, break a leg! I can't tell you how much I wish I could be there to cheer you, Tessa, and Becca on! You're going to kill it like the French national guard.
