Darksynth artists to keep an eye out for in 2018
Hey so everyone into synthwave knows all the big names, but here’s some up and comers to keep an eye out for:
Gor Flsh
Makes some kickass metal-electro-synth hybrid, sometimes leaning closer to one side or the other, but definitely always hard. Best described as metalsynth, if you like GosT’s newer stuff you’ll like Gor Flsh.
We are Magonia
Horrosynth at its finest. Dark, brooding, hard, retro. If you like Perturbator in Dangerous Days you’ll very much enjoy what little they’ve put out. Two singles late last year, lots of potential here.
Réno
Reno is dark, low, electronic.Often times pounding with repetitive bassy tracks. If you’re a fan of the more house-y, less synthy sounds like Street Fever, you’ll very much like Reno. With an EP appropriately titled Debut a year ago and another single middle last year, I think we’ll be seeing more form Reno.
Sierra
With a release late last year that gained some notice, Sierra has shown to be both very different and totally competent than anyone else in the genre. While departing a bit from the typical synth sound and heading, again, more into the house and electronic stage, Sierra delivered a wonderful journey of an EP. More melodic than Reno, but within a similar general sound, it’s hard ot find an apt comparison.
