You know I gotta keep it Goon. Can't say Nas has always provided the best sartorial lessons (pretty sure that pink blazer is a re-tailored version of the one in Street Dreams) but the first minute of this video is a nice ode to the love hip-hop has always had for fashion, for better or worse. Plus this bumps hard in the whip. 

...but this guy is this guy. Don't be mad at the monster you made.

We're men, we do what we want. But sometimes, (that's sometimes for you neutered fellas)  we wear something that'll make other people happy. 

Momma says wear a tie, wear the tie. Wife says throw on a shirt, button up. Boss says buy a new suit, say no at your peril.

And if you think they're absolutely off base or outta line, take a moment, pick up a magazine or scroll down on this site and see how you stack up. Ask yourself: Am I even looking the way I want? 

And if nothing else, at least try it on and see how it feels. 

Wearing green on St. Patty's Day, an effort.

Wearing green the next morning, an achievement. 

I don't love ironing. It's the greatest motivation for me to get a personal assistant/butler/superfan.

But my momma raised me right, and there's nothing like a freshly pressed shirt to make you feel put together and sharp. So when you do convince yourself it's therapeutic, this is how to do it right:

1. Start when it's outta the wash - avoid drying your shirts (they shrink and wear out faster) - and when they're damp you won't even need steam

2. Remember, you iron in the order of what you don't mind wrinkled to what you do (because somehow you'll wrinkle the damn thing just by flipping it on the board)

3. Sleeves first, button side up so you don't get that damn button imprint on the other side, fold the cuffs in half at the centre (for french cuffs, make sure they're cuffed first)

4. Unbutton the shirt and iron the back, save the yoke (shoulder area) for later

5. Do the front of the shirt, you may need steam on the placket (button area) and flip it over to do the side with the buttons, if you must

6. Yoke time #get-that-crease-off-your-shoulder

7. Iron the collar from the back and use a bit of steam till it's just right and hang immediately with alternate buttons done up to maintain the shape
