SAP And Google Cloud: Firms success With AI-Powered Cloud
SAP, Google Cloud
Faster routes to business value, less risk on complex projects, and intelligent, enterprise-ready innovation that serves actual workloads rather than speculative use cases are what clients seek. SAP and Google Cloud are increasing their data analytics, AI, security, and other partnerships.
Google Cloud announced various changes at SAP Sapphire 2025 to bring its top infrastructure to SAP clients' most demanding workloads, enabling new AI agents and capabilities with Gemini and Agentspace, and streamline SAP data access with BigQuery.
Smart AI collaboration boosts business
SAP-Google Cloud partnership relies on AI. It is demonstrating how business clients may integrate cutting-edge AI technology with SAP data and processes for quantifiable results without starting from scratch.
Making AI-powered apps: The Vertex AI platform provides full access to top foundation models, an SDK for SAP's ABAP language, and Model Garden, a central area for searching, locating, and interacting with integrated Google and Google partner models. These features may help SAP clients enhance invoice settlement, allow generative AI chatbots for faster, more accurate customer service, and produce customised marketing material using SAP data.
Bringing Gemini to SAP Joule: SAP's native agentic intelligence layer, Joule, is being developed and upgraded to allow AI-powered agents to work across SAP systems. New Gemini models in SAP's Generative AI Hub on SAP BTP allow these agents to employ Google Cloud's most advanced language models for more intelligent, self-governing behaviour. The 10 SAP BTP regions on Google Cloud worldwide allow customers to create AI agent applications that meet corporate governance, data localisation, and operational control requirements.
Google Agentspace unifies access to enterprise agents and applications, including SAP agents, to facilitate job automation and safeguard company knowledge across numerous systems, apps, and data formats. Employees can leverage business intelligence in their existing tools, including partner CRM, IT, and data platforms. The employee's existing workplace has better access to AI agents, structured and unstructured data, and contextual suggestions with SAP data through Agentspace.
SAP participates in and supports Google Cloud's Agent2Agent (A2A) interoperability standard, which allows AI agents on multiple platforms to safely share context, communicate, and collaborate to achieve business goals. A SAP orchestrator can use A2A to activate a Vertex AI agent using BigQuery with full context to replace manual, brittle integrations with autonomous, standards-based cooperation.
AI-powered SAP operations with Gemini: As client adoption of RISE with SAP increases, SAP and Google Cloud are partnering on AI co-innovations to enable faster, smarter SAP operations at scale. It has worked with SAP to construct AI agents powered by the latest Gemini models to reduce outages, increase performance, and speed up troubleshooting.
AMD uses Google AI to improve SAP user experiences. The company developed several AI chatbots to allow finance, HR, and customer service staff to use SAP systems in natural language. A finance chatbot using Vertex AI and Cortex Framework speeds up cash-flow forecasting, while a customer operations chatbot obtains order scheduling and delivery information to help answer customer questions quickly.
Maximise enterprise data value
Enterprise data is only valuable when current, integrated, and actionable. Cortex Framework speeds up BigQuery, allowing users to achieve this. Cortex provides prebuilt models for SAP, Google Ads, and other corporate data sources to integrate real-time signals and link varied data. This increases operational agility, analytics, and AI preparation by generating a robust data model from your present reality for BigQuery's native ML to let you act on opportunities.
Suzano, the world's largest pulp manufacturer and a Google Cloud RISE with SAP client, uses Cortex to centralise its huge operational data, which was previously difficult for staff worldwide to access. The company then developed an AI tool that turns staff natural language questions into SQL queries, making SAP data insights easy for non-technical users. This reduced data consulting time by 90%, democratised data access, and accelerated, better-informed company decision-making.
SAP and Google Cloud are still cooperatively building data links between SAP source systems and BigQuery using SAP Business Data Cloud to make SAP data instantly available for AI, analytics, and visualisation without shifting workloads off of SAP. Clients can develop insight pipelines using trusted data and familiar technology.
Top SAP infrastructure
SAP systems require the right cloud infrastructure. Google Cloud now offers SAP-optimized virtual machines (M4 and C4D families) to boost productivity and performance. M4, which is widely available, offers the most efficient memory-optimized VM Compute Engine instances with up to 127% better performance and 36% lower TCO than previous generations. This means you can save money and complete key SAP jobs faster.
Google Cloud infrastructure, built from the ground up for security and dependability to reduce interruptions to your company's important activities, now supports the industry-leading single instance 99.95% uptime SLA. With upgraded large-scale X4 instances, you can securely run even the most demanding S/4HANA systems under RISE at enterprise level, ensuring that your IT infrastructure grows with your business ambitions.
Increasing security and compliance
Starting with secure-by-design global infrastructure and data encryption by default, Google Cloud's multi-layered security strategy reduces risk immediately and secures your critical SAP systems and company data. Google Unified Security provides centralised security administration, continuous monitoring, and precise access limits for SAP environment threat visibility. Google Cloud's Assured Workloads control platform supports ITAR for SAP Ariba and RISE with SAP, enabling compliance for essential SAP workloads, especially in the public sector. This combination of Google Cloud technologies ensures compliance and allows speedy detection, investigation, and neutralisation of complex threats to decrease the company's impact and improve operational resilience.
