There's only five days until Valentine's day. Now, I have to work 24/5. Not seven, because Valentine's is on the sixth day.
Honestly, I love being a cupid. So many new friends you meet, and pairing people is the best thing to do! Like, I know about various tropes as friends to lovers, crushes to lovers, childhood friends to lovers…
But I don't like only one. The one I hate the most. The one that is weird. Enemies to lovers trope. Eugh! Honestly, how can anyone go from enemies to lovers! I never understood it at all. Hating on each other and then somehow turning out to love each other is shocking and weird to me.
If you ask me, I'd rather die than pair enemies.
But, my friend says otherwise. She says that we have to respect any kind of ‘to lovers’ trope.
I don't want to do this job anymore. But as a curse I'm just, like, forced to—
“You stole my chocolate!” pink haired guy yelled at some bob cut girl. She laughed loudly as her mouth was filled with chocolate she stole. “I don't care! You're going to be loveless like us!” She shouted as she held the chocolate wrapped in the air with a smirk on her face. The pink haired guy groaned as he stomped his feet. “Kugisaki, give it back!” Bobcut girl, Kugisaki Nobara, laughed again. “Nope! Ozawa is not going to be happy when she hears that you have another one!” She shouted.
At the moment, the door slammed open. “Will you two stop fucking yelling and be quiet? Some people are trying to still sleep.” The sea urchin head said, his eye twitching.
The black eye bags under his eyes were clearly visible. “Kugisaki, get the hell down the chair and act more mature. Itadori, stop yelling so much. There's only five days until Valentine's day.” Sea urchin grumbled as he calmed down the two of the people. He shut the door and left.
“Fushiguro is really a dumbass…” Nobara said as she stood in front of Yuji who was looking at the closed door. They both sighed.
Megumi went back to his room, sighing, he watched you still asleep.
You two were roommates, but also enemies. Like, you two hated each other but now we're forced to share a bedroom due to Itadori and Kugisaki moving in the same apartment as you two.
You miss your old bed that you used to sleep in. Megumi and you didn't get into so many fights before the two of the menaces because you didn't share a room nor a bed.
You just wished to again go into your bedroom and be there forever.
Without Megumi breathing beside you.
But, who were you joking.
You'll stay with Megumi until you rent your own apartment with your own money. But you didn't have anything now. You four were sharing.
“Fushiguro, go away from there or go in the bed, don't just stand there and watch.” You grumbled as you buried your face into the pillow. Megumi froze, realizing he had been caught left-handed. He shook his head to compose himself and eventually came back to the bed so he could continue sleeping.
“You got a Valentine's yet?” Yuji asked Megumi as they walked through the streets of Tokyo.
Every store was full of Valentine's Day themed items. You'll never believe it, but it's true, because when it's the week of love, everything wakes up and turns red and pink.
That's right, because love is red.
The sun's rays shone on the road where people passed by the many stores. Of course, these two, but especially Megumi, weren't interested. Yuji because he did already have someone and Megumi simply wasn’t interested in love.
"I don't need anyone," said Megumi as he walked with long strides and Yuji followed him at the same pace. Yuji chuckled as he looked at Megumi. "You know, you can always find someone. Like, her," said Yuji and Megumi got angry at him. "I don't like your thoughts. They're strange. And no, I don't want anyone, because I don't need anyone at this time." she said and Yuji just pouted. "Come on, you're such a party pooper! Come on, melt a little, especially since the sun is warming up at this time!" Yuji said with a big smile on his face. Megumi rolled his eyes and continued walking.
Megumi looked around at people buying various chocolates for their lovers. He thought a little.
Maybe it really was time to get someone, but he didn't know who.
As he looked around, he couldn’t stop his mind from imagining him buying a chocolate for someone. But he didn’t know who. He started thinking who he could buy the chocolate for, but no one came into his mind. Except for you.
You appeared in his mind. He imagined you smiling widely as you took the chocolate from his hands, then later on hugging him tightly. He smiled to himself and Yuji noticed.
“You good?” Yuji asked the sea urchin. Megumi shook his head, clearing his throat and thoughts.
YOUR POV(but in 2nd person)
You were sitting on the couch with Megumi's dogs, Shiro's head on your lap and Kuro laying beside you, with you on the couch. You pet Kuro's head, the fluffs of his fur locking with your fingers.
Shiro let out a soft whine, seeking for attention from you too. You smiled as your other hand came to his had and pet him.
You chuckled as Shiro instantly leaned into your touch, nuzzling your hand as if he's the only one. Kuro whined as you stopped petting him. You didn't even realise.
You sighed. You couldn't have a minute without the two of the dogs whining and wanting your oh so good petting.
There's only 4 more days until Valentine's day, and you're still lonely. You wish to have someone by your side. Your mind betrayed you because it started imagining about you with someone. Anywhere.
You were in the cafe you loved. With your lover. You didn't know who to imagine. Your brain imagined Megumi. Megumi, you, and his dogs laying on the floor as you and him talked.
You imagined Megumi smiling all the time. But you couldn't, because you never knew how he smiled. You cleared your thoughts, sighing, exhausted.
Maybe you should get more sleep.
“You're annoying me, Kohana. Any kind of tropes are good, just let the world live.” Kohana’s friend said, making Kohana scoff and frown. “But enemies to lovers is not real! It's disgusting!” She shouted. Mala’s eyebrows furrowed, and she pinched the bridge of her nose. “Listen, you're a cupid, literally do your fucking job—”
“Stop telling me what not to do!”
“I'm telling you what to do!”
“Stop telling what to do!”
“Kohana, seriously, stop being annoying so much!”
“I'm not annoying, you are!”
“That's it, I'm taking your bow away—” Mala grabbed Kohana’s bow and Kohana flinched back. “Back off me!” Kohana shouted as Mala pulled the bow to herself. “Give me your damn bow!” Mala groaned, pulling the bow to herself. Then Kohana pulled to herself.
The fight turned into pull the rope, but with a cupid's bow. They didn't even notice when Mala pulled the string, and two arrows shot out.
Both Mala and Kohana watched each other, and two of the arrows that were shot down. Both of their eyes were widened, watching the arrow.
“Girl go get that arrows before it gets someone!” Mala yelled and Kohana instantly flew down.
Kohana was flying down at the speed of light, trying to reach for the arrows before it struck someone. She stretched out her arm, being so close to the arrow.
But the arrows already found someone and struck.
“Ack!” Megumi groaned as he grabbed his arm. “You good?” Yuji asked, his voice filled with worry. Megumi hissed, “I'm good. My arm just hurt for a bit—” Megumi froze. Yuji watched him, his eyebrows shot up. “Fushiguro?” Yuji tapped Megumi's shoulder. Megumi shook his head, flinching away from Yuji's hand. “I'm fine.” He coldly muttered.
“Hey!” You groaned as you felt something sting you. “Whoa, girl, you okay?” Nobara asked as she walked closer to you, holding your arm. “Something sting me…” you said, hissing as you held your arm.
Nobara looked around, and saw a bee's nest. “Maybe it were the bees?” She said, unsure if it's true or not. “How the hell could a bee sting me out of no where?” You asked her and she thought. “You're right actually…” she muttered, holding your arm.
You two walked back home, in silence.
“Kohana, you absolute piece of—” Mala jumped to Kohana so she could strangle her. “H-hey! Don't be mad at me! I paired enemies! Ew…” Kohana muttered, shivering at the thought of her pairing literal enemies. Mala watched her, eyes wide. “Goodness. You did a great job!” Mala squealed as she came and hugged Kohana instead. “Girl, you hated me a second ago before I told you who I paired!” Kohana groaned, pushing the other cupid away from her.
“Cupid’s goodness, eek!” Mala jumped around, excited. “Oh boy, oh boy, let’s go see what happens!” Mala grabbed Kohana by her arm and dragged her down to Earth.
Megumi felt really weird the whole time they went home. He was sweating, his mind around you. He couldn’t take you out of his head somehow, as if he was now attached.
You couldn’t take Megumi out of your head. Something made you cling to him. Maybe it was the sting from whatever had sting you earlier. On your way to apartment, you and Nobara met Megumi and Yuji.
Yuji and Nobara already went into the apartment while you and Megumi watched each other.
You were admiring him, watching his eyes glow as he watched you back. He admired you back, his cheeks turning red. You two stood in front of the apartment for a while as you watched each other.
“Did they fall in love, what the hell?” Nobara quietly asked Yuji. Yuji hummed, “I guess… I don’t like this.” Yuji said, sighing.
“This is perfect! They’re so in love,” said Mala as she took the spyglass from Kohana’s hands. Kohana exhaled, annoyed, “well, whatever keeps the Valentine’s day happy I guess. There’s only 2 days left. We already did enough, let’s go hom—” before Kohana could finish, Mala grabbed her by her neck, “We’re staying until they confess.” Mala coldly said and Kohana nodded with wide eyes, nervous and scared.
“You’re in love?” Nobara pouted as you laid on her bed, your face red. “HE watched me soo… ugh. He’s so cute, Kugisaki, I can’t.” you groaned into your hands. Nobara sighed, “you are in love.” she repeated as her hand came over to your shoulder.
“Dude, you’re in love?” Yuji asked Megumi as they both sat in the living room on the couch. Megumi had his face buried into his hands, his whole face a color of tomato. “I’m gonna die. She looked so cute.” Megumi murmured, making Yuji sigh. “Dude, you are in love.”

You sighed as you rolled over in the bed, only to be greeted by Megumi. The tips of his ears were slightly red, but you couldn’t see it because it was still dark.
Smooth sunlight filtered through the dark curtains, finding its way into the room. You and Megumi were both awake in bed, facing each other, looking at each other. His green eyes were looking at yours, and your eyes were scanning his face that was slightly illuminated by the sunlight. He looked so cute, yet so dangerous.
Before you thought twice, your hand went to his face, to his cheek. He froze, his eyes widening. You didn’t know what you were doing, you weren’t thinking about your movements. You were thinking about him, his eyes, his face, and his smooth skin.
“Y-you’re touching me…” he said quietly. When he said that, you came back to the world. You immediately saw what you were doing and quickly pulled your hand back to you. “Sorry.” you said, in the same quiet tone as him. He just nodded.
Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day.
You didn't know what you were going to do for the rest of the day alone together, so you decided to go shopping. As you walked through the big streets of Tokyo, you saw how everything was packed with Valentine's Day items. "Valentine's Day tomorrow! Get 60% off everything you buy for your lover!" the ads said.
You didn't want to look around, you just stared at the floor as you walked next to Megumi, trying to keep up with his pace. When he turned his head to say something, instead, he saw you hurrying. He slowly slowed his steps so you could walk at the same pace. When you caught up with his rhythm, he started talking, "So... are you going to buy someone something for Valentine's Day?" he asked, looking at you. You thought for a moment. "Not really, but I'll buy myself some chocolate so I'll at least have something for Valentine's Day." you said with a chuckle. His cheeks flushed and he looked away from you.
You looked so beautiful, and you didn't even know it, he thought.
"I won't do anything either. Can we go to your favorite cafe? If you want..." he asked and you thought. Just like in your dreams, he asked you out. You wanted to go, but you didn't know if it was the right thing to do. "Of course," you said too quickly without thinking. He just nodded and you were already blushing. You really have to control yourself with him.
You went to the nearest store and bought yourself a large chocolate. "Is that all for you?" the shopkeeper asked. "You can take a 60% discount coupon for lovers." she added with a big smile on her face. You blushed again, and his ears did the same. "No, than-" "We'll take something more to get the discount, thanks." he said. You turned your gaze to him and he was looking back at you. Your eyes widened and you quickly turned around and started to get more sweets. You came to the section with teddy bears.
You saw plushies that looked like Shiro and Kuro. "How cute..." you said quietly as you looked. You took the paper where was written the price on and quickly put it away. "But it's too expensive." you added and turned around, but he didn't. He was looking at that stuffed toy dogs, thinking. "I'll buy her this. Tomorrow," he said to himself and walked towards you. You bought a lot of sweet and savory things for yourselves and got a 60% discount. "Happy Valentine's Day!" the saleswoman said as you walked out.
You didn't look back and didn't want to. Your face was red. Megumi didn't talk to you and you didn't start anything. You didn't have anything to talk about. It was quiet until you got back to the apartment.
"This is getting interesting! Do you think they're already so head over heels in love?" asked Mala, looking at Kohana. Kohana nodded her head slightly. "Unfortunately. I don't want to see them like this. They should hate each other, not love each other! Even that shopkeeper who thought they were together, she's getting on my nerves."
Mala laughed. "Come on, come on, they're such a cute couple!" Mala asked and Kohana got angry. "No they're not. I don't like them." she lied. Mala started teasing. "Come on! Look at them! They remind me of you and that guy-"
"Don't, please!" Kohana got angry and Mala laughed hard. "Haha! You and him are cute together! Kohana and the Blue Couple in Love! When they get married, they'll get a gift!" Mala joked and Kohana's face turned red.
"That's enough!" Kohana shouted, running after Mala. The little one continued to laugh as she flew away from Kohana, teasing her the whole way.
When you got to the apartment, Megumi unlocked it and let you in first. You looked at the floor as you walked in, Megumi following you.
He closed the door and looked at you. When you turned around, you caught him looking at you. "What's so interesting about me right now?" you asked with a smile. Megumi turned around, cheeks flushed. "Shut up..." but he didn't want to.
"Actually, don't." he quickly added, and took a step towards you. You froze. You looked at his face, how red it was. Yours was like that too. "W-what are you doing—" you asked him and he immediately shut you up.
"You really don't get it?" he asked you, walking towards you.
You dropped a bag full of sweet and savory on the floor. You walked backwards until you felt the door. He was close. Very close. You felt how warm he was.
You were too, but only your face was.
He leaned towards you. "I really love you. I can't stop thinking about you. You're all I can think about, and I don't like it. I should hate you, but it's like something has touched me." he said modestly, using the right words to make you feel better.
You gulped, feeling nervous. His hand came up to your face, his thumb caressing your cheek. You were still frozen. You closed your eyes shut, trying to calm yourself. But as you tried to do so, you felt his breath against your lips.
You were the first to quickly press your lips to his lips in a first, soft kiss.
Kohana and Mala’s jaws were dropped to the floor as they watched you two. “I win.” Mala smirked to Kohana. “I win, mi mi mi mi…” Kohana repeated, sighing. “Fine. Whatever.” Mala smirked to herself as she posed.
You pulled back, realizing what you just did. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to, it was an accident, I swear—” you stuttered, and Megumi shut you with another kiss that was a bit more mean. Your breath hitched as the sound of lips smacking filled the living room.
You were in your favorite café with Megumi and his divine dogs, just like you imagined.
You watched as Megumi smiled at every (bad) joke you’d make, which made you blush. You were on a date. A real date this time. Not some imaginary dream, it was real.
“You see kids! Even with mistakes you can fix everything!” Mala said, smiling to the little future cupids that were sat on the floor. Kohana was next to Mala, smiling at her. “And remember to not to be dumb like Kohana.” Mala added with a smirk and made Kohana’s smile fade. “Oh, you little—” Kohana started and Mala laughed.
