‘Yuri Honing won de prestigieuze Edison Jazz Award 2018 voor zijn album Goldrun. Hij richtte samen met kunstenaar Mariecke van der Linden een ruimte in bij Museum de Fundatie. Met muziek, schilderijen en installaties reflecteren zij in een ‘Gesamtkunstwerk’ op Europa. De presentatie wordt ingepast in de tentoonstelling Giacometti-Chadwick, Facing Fear. Hun visie op Europa verhoudt zich tot die van de twee beeldhouwers, die, elk in een eigen vormentaal, reageerden op de toestand van ontluistering en angst in Europa tijdens de jaren van de Koude Oorlog.’

Following up on his Goldbrun album, with which he carried off the prestigious Edison Jazz/World Award 2018, Yuri Honing now joins with artist Mariecke van der Linden in creating a gallery-filling ‘total artwork’ at Museum de Fundatie. The show use music, paintings and installations to reflect on the subject of Europe. It will be an adjunct to the exhibition Giacometti-Chadwick, Facing Fear and the vision of Europe it expresses will connect with that of the two sculptors of the Cold War period, each of whom was responding in his own way to the state of fear and disillusionment in which Europe then found itself.
