Rosalind walked up to Leonard, cautiously. "What is it?" he asked not turning from his work to look at her.
"I have to tell you something. And . . . it's important." she was a bit nervous but she forced herself to stay there, she had already stopped herself from saying what she needed to say and she wasn't about to do it again.
"Okay . . . go ahead." Leonard told her.
"I want to ask Lisa to marry me." said Rosa, softly.
The captain turned to her. "You what?"
Rosa had been in a relationship with Lisa for a while and she felt like the time was right. She had stolen the perfect ring and everything. While she was aware she didn't actually need Len's approval to propose, she felt like she should ask him anyway, or at least consider his opinion (because she was going to propose no matter what he said) given how protective he was of Lisa, and given the fact that he basically raised her.
"Well, Lisa and I have been dating for a while and I . . . want to be with her forever." she continued.
Leonard paused for a moment, processing this and Rosalind began to worry. She tried to force the anxiety down as she calmly awaited his response.
"Lisa is happier with you than she has been in a long time. And all I want for her is happiness. So . . . you know what? Knock yourself out." Leonard replied.
Rosa felt herself tear up. She had always had a tendency to be emotional. She beamed and, not caring about the reprocutions, jumped up and hugged Leonard tightly.
She was surprised to find that he didn't shove her away. Just tensed up and stood there. Rosa released her commander and her voice cracked as she said, "Thank you."
Hey, can I please ask you to write Lisa/Rosa with the prompt "I wish I could hate you,"
The first time they met Lisa didnât remember it. Lisa was ten when Lenny managed to send her to a skating camp. Children 8-15. Lisa loved skating, more than anything.
When she was there, she became best friends with a boy a year older than her. She didnât remember his name, didnât remember anything about him besides the fact heâd been skating for three years and helped her. (Didnât remember most of her childhood, only bits and pieces. Sheâd mentioned it to Lenny once, years later, he was recounting a memory and sheâd admitted remembering none of it. Mick had made her tell a therapist, who had concluded it was the abuse. Sheâd killed the therapist.)
Their dad had broken Lenâs arm twice for that. She hadnât gone to skating camp again.
The second time they met, Lisa also didnât recognise her. She was trying to get a crew, vet them so Lenny wouldnât have to. âSo, I could use you two. Are you in?â They looked at each other, then nodded.
She recognized them both after she decided to trust them, which was unfortunate. She sat up quickly, jostling Hartley, who had been leaning against her. âSorry Piper,â she apologised. He muttered something in Russian. She grinned, and responded in kind. He let out an amused huff. Forgiven, then.
She focused on them. âYou guys are the ones who almost got Lenny caught!â
Rosa tilted her head, âWho?â
Lisa sighed. So much for her idea of sharing identities to foster trust. Hopefully they splintered off cleanly. She knew they sure as fuck wouldnât be staying, after she admitted it. Things hadnât ended well between them. Better to do it fast. âMy brother. Leonard Snart.â
They didnât splinter off on their own. Shawna, Mark, and Hartley had stayed with her, but Bivolo and Nimbus had elected to follow Sam and Rosaâs lead.
And somehow, they kept going on the same damn heists. âI wish I could hate you, but you always manage to make things fun!â Lisa shouted casually, on the seventh such occasion. It was the third time their two groups had teamed up due to an arrival by the Flash.
Rosa opened her mouth to reply, but got tackled by the Flash. âDidnât know you liked to play rough,â she breathed instead.
Sam went to attack Flash, and Lisa gestured for Shawna to get their team out of there.
Lisa tried having her team wear reflective glasses to resist The Top and Mirror Master, but Mirror Master just used them to get close to people (which really, she should have expected.)
She tried going to Keystone, they were there. She even went to Canada once, just to see what would happen. They followed.
She had Hartley cover their tracks. Still, they followed. She removed everything with a reflection.
Finally, they were gone. No sign of them anywhere. She had Hartley check the cameras to see if they were still free and in the city.
They were.
And sheâŠkind of missed them? Not them. Her.
(She put the mirrors back. No one objected. The one thing about this team-they were vain. Not that that was a bad thing.)
She kept one room specifically mirror-free, for the important stuff.
Len and Mick had been gone over four years. She knew they came back occasionally, but she never got a visit. She tried to not be too hurt.
She loved this team she has formed, Hartley was probably the closest thing she had to a best friend. Shawna was great, the closest female friend sheâd ever had. (There werenât nearly enough female criminals.) And MarkâŠwell, even heâd grown on her, once heâd stopped flirting with her (and Shawna) all the time, thanks to Hartley pointedly flirting with him to the point of discomfort for all involved.
Still, she missed them. Hell, she missed that first year, with twice as many people.
Hartley and her were sitting together on a couch in that room, once. Heâd asked her about if she cared if people on the team dated people they fought.
âWho?â She asked.
âYou know, Rosalind and Sam broke up,â he deflected. Or tried to make it seem.
She grinned. She knew his double-bluffs. He wanted her to think he was saying that a deflection but it was really an answer. But she knew it was just what it seemed-a deflection. On a hunch, she casually said âCiscoâs mine.â
He gave her a look, clearly unable to tell if she was serious. She paused, reflecting on that. Had she been serious? âŠshe shook her head and sighed. âDo what you want. But he was. Iâve kissed him. He liked me. So if thatâs a problem for you, youâd be getting my cooties. ActuallyâŠâ she leaned over and kissed him on the cheek, and laughed as he grimaced. He ran out to complain to Shawna, and she chased him.
Sheâd lost track of how many times theyâd met when Rosa (and Bivolo) showed up at her door. Numbers had always been more Lennyâs thing.
She let her in.
Them. She let them in.
Rosa explained how sheâd broken up with Sam, and how sheâd stayed for a while, but soon started feelingâŠoff. She and Bivolo had decided to leave.
It took some effort, working with them again. Mark was outwardly aggressive almost all the time. Hartley refused to look at either of them in the eyes. Shawna was friendly, but distant. Lisa knew she was all over the place.
She felt she should hate Rosa, for hurting her brother, almost getting him caught. But she hadnât seen her brother-or Mick-in five years. (She knew they hadnât just both died, Mick had been on the news once or twice. And she read every report she-or Hartley-could find carefully.)
So, she decided to forget it, and started sleeping with Rosa.
(When they got together for real, actually considering themselves girlfriends, she saw Shawna slip Hartley multiple bills. She wondered if she could bet Mark on Hartleyâs chances of getting with Cisco.)

(thanks for the prompt :) actually I accidentally deleted this when i had most of it done so... if something sounds like it doesnât make sense itâs probably because I already had half a fic written and maybe i forgot to re-write smth in here :âD)Â
The car ride back to the warehouse is eerily quiet. Len never talks much post-heist (or in this case, prison break), but Lisa can see his reflection in the mirror and heâs pissed alright.Â
She pulls his jacket tighter around her shoulders and doesnât try to talk him out of it. She shouldâve been more careful, less prone to trust people who donât really deserve it⊠but the thought hurts her somewhere behind the ribs, and she doesnât dwell on it too much.Len shoots out of the car the second they park in front of their makeshift temporary home, and Lisa doesnât really know what she couldâve said to stop him. By the time she climbs out of the (no doubt stolen) Chevy, she can already hear Lenâs snarling through the open metal door. ââŠand if you ever pull shit like that again, youâre out, Scudder, are we clear?!âScudder, bless his stupid heart, hasnât learned yet that when Len goes quiet like this, itâs actually worse than if he were screaming. He tries to challenge, steps closer to Len and attempts to stare him down, but the inch he has on Len isnât nearly enough to accomplish that.âOh, yeah?â
Len hisses at him, something venomous and too quiet for Lisa to hear; she doesnât want to, anyway. Lenâs good at threatening people, but being the reason for his anger tonight, Lisa doesnât particularly need to rehash all the reasons why she was stupid to trust Scudder.
In all fairness, it wasnât so much Scudder as it was Rosa: when she grabbed Lisaâs hand and said it would be so much âfunâ if Lisa joined, how could she have said no?
Lisaâs eyes search the warehouse for the familiar figure; itâs getting easier to find Rosa anywhere, and it scares Lisa a little how her eyes seem to be drawn to the woman like a magnet. Rosa has lost her heist gear already; the yellow jacket fits her like second skin and Lisaâs mouth goes dry at the sight. With Rosa, it always feels like sheâs on a slippery slope, the ground uneven and frightening beneath her feet - because Lisaâs used to controlling people with a flick of her hair, a glance or a smile. Sheâs done it to get her way ever since her boobs went from zero to hero in tenth grade⊠but with Rosa, itâs different.Â
How do you control someone who knows your methods so intimately? Whoâs used the same for as long as you have, who sees right through your bullshit, right through you, and leaves you with nothing but a raw, scraped-up core of questionable value?
Lisaâs never felt less glamorous than when Rosa Dillon stares right at her, and yet thereâs an earthquake in her stomach, in her chest, every time the other woman gets too close. Lisa feels transparent and vulnerable near Rosa and she hates it⊠and yet, she canât seem to keep enough distance.
She watches Rosa push away from the wall, her eyes all huge and innocent, in the same act that Lisaâs put on for years. She knows how that act feels on her face, in her posture, and yet itâs fascinating to watch it unfold in third person.
âLetâs just bury the hatchet, hmm?â Rosa drawls and⊠yes, sheâs batting her eyelashes, just a pretty little thing, you wouldnât want to hurt her, right?
To Rosaâs misfortune, Lenâs lived with Lisa long enough that he sees through the bullshit, too.
âFuck your hatchet,â he sneers, vicious and unwavering in his anger, as always when it comes to Lisa. Usually, it makes her feel proud and protected⊠but today, she just feels weary. âOne more strike and youâre both out, Dillon, do you understand?!â
Rosaâs eyes flash green, for a split second, but sheâs smarter than to really try that crap on Len. They might win, once, but thereâs no doubt in any Rogueâs mind that Leonard Snart is a dangerous bear to poke. They wonât dare kill him, not when they donât know which hole Mick might come crawling out of, roaring and ready to roast someone⊠and if they just trap him, the Flash might be a lot less inclined to let them go, without the one Rogue who actually has some leverage with him. Lenâs got his ass covered, as usual⊠Lisa just wishes she could do the same. She doesnât hear what Rosa says, but Len stalks off to his secluded corner of the warehouse, so he must be marginally satisfied. Scudder ends up stomping to the opposite end, very obviously trying to be as far away as possible from their leader so that it doesnât look like heâs crawling off with his tail between his legs. And RosaâŠÂ
Lisa just canât watch anymore. She doesnât want to see Rosa trail after Scudder again - the manâs a self-important jerk, for all his skill with the mirrors. Suddenly, Lisa feels almost naked in her prison uniform. Orangeâs never been quite her color, and her brotherâs leather jacket doesnât do much to keep the chill out; she turns to go get changed, but a warm hand on her forearm stops her.
âHey,â Rosa says, so quietly it would be easy to ignore⊠if Lisa were someone else. Her insides turn to liquid again and she hates it, hates being so easily swayed by... god knows what, by Rosa. She takes a second to steel herself and then smirks, in Rosaâs general direction because she canât stand to look, not now. Not when it still smarts that Rosa left her there to rot, trapped and unarmed, the sounds of copsâ shouting getting closer by the second.
âHey,â she echoes back, smirking like her stomachâs not in knots. Rosa might see through her bullshit, but Lisa will be damned if she lets go of her act, the only thing still keeping her together. âI really didnât want to leave you,â Rosa speaks again, almost sincerely, almost like Lisa could believe it.But you did, she wants to scream, but she still stinks of prison and her hairâs all limp and tousled, and she can almost feel the cracks in her usually well-maintained facade. âDonât mention it,â she says instead, but Rosaâs hand tightens on her forearm and the warmth seeps almost down to Lisaâs skin. âI mean it,â Rosa insists. Her voiceâs lost that honeyed lilt and she sounds almost rough, almost honest. Lisa longs to turn to her and just take her word for it, but the thing is, sheâs heard far too many worthless apologies in her life to trust an unspoken âsorryâ when it hangs in the air. She tries to pull her arm away, with a casual âWhateverâ - but Rosaâs surprisingly strong for her size. Lisa remembers her in that black gear, tight pants and a long-sleeved shirt showing off surprisingly defined arms, and a goddamn thigh holster. Lisa teased her about that, but she had a hard time focusing on the heist instead of Rosa, cool and competent and oh so agile.Â
âLet me go,â Lisa snaps, and she makes the mistake of looking at the other woman. Rosaâs pouting, but itâs not the flirty pout with a purpose: she looks genuinely upset that Lisa doesnât trust her (anymore, maybe). And Lisa really, really wants not to cave, but itâs harder by the second.Â
âI wouldnât have left you there, Lisa.â
âThen why did you?â
The words are out before she can stop them, cutting through the narrow space between them. Rosa looks like sheâs been slapped, and Lisa feels malicious satisfaction at the sight. Sheâs stewed in her own rage and helplessness for long enough that she wants to push the misery onto someone else. The anger and the frustration of the past weeks boils over, and Lisa yanks her arm out of Rosaâs slackened grip, turning to the other woman with a sneer: âWhy did you leave me there, Rosalind? You and your precious boyfriend, huh? If you care so much, why didnât you use your swirly mojo and get me out? Why did it have to be my brother, my ordinary human brother, who broke me out tonight? Iâll tell you why-â
She doesnât get any further before Rosa lunges and for a second, Lisa thinks sheâs gonna get punched. But then Rosaâs mouth is on her own and Rosaâs hands are tangled in Lisaâs messy, unwashed hair and she has about half a second to wonder how gross she is right now before her brain short-circuits and her eyes fall closed as she wraps her arm around Rosaâs back and pulls her in. Sheâs not sure what sheâs doing here, but sheâs kissed enough people that her body remembers for her. She even manages not to sound too needy when Rosa licks into her mouth and curves one hand around the back of Lisaâs neck; but when they part, both breathless and flushed, she becomes aware of the knots in her stomach again.
âWhat was that?â Lisa whispers, suddenly worried that someone saw - she doesnât even know whether sheâd be more mortified if it were Len or Scudder. Or maybe Hartley: heâd be unable to keep his mouth shut, and thereâs this intense urge to keep this... thing private, whatever it is. Itâs a foreign feeling, because usually, PDAâs not a problem for her. But this, no, this is just for the two of them, and if Rosaâs bright eyes are anything to go by, she could be persuaded to make it a habit.Â
âAn apology?â Rosa smirks, lopsided and wry, and Lisa feels like someone threw a bucket of cold water over her head. She lets go of Rosaâs waist - when has she wrapped both arms around her? - and moves to pull away.âNo no no,â Rosa sighs and presses closer, trapping Lisa against the wall at her back. âListen. I wanted to go back for you. I didnât want to leave in the first place, but Sam grabbed me and pulled me through that mirror of his and- I really wanted to get you back. Snart said it would be no use if I got myself caught too,â she frowns, like she can remember disagreeing with Len, and somehow that makes Lisaâs heart go all warm again. There arenât many people willing to cross Len, after all.âReally?â she asks - maybe sheâs being naive again, stupid and trusting and most likely itâll come back to bite her in the ass, but Rosaâs warm against her and smells so, so good that Lisa doesnât really want to think about any future shitstorms that might come her way. After all, Lenâs always been the one with the cool head in the family.âReally,â Rosa nods, and her smile melts Lisaâs insides into a puddle of useless goo. She lifts her hand to card through Rosaâs hair, mess up that too-perfect braid a little, and then groans when the sleeve of the orange uniform peeks from under her brotherâs leather jacket.âCan we do this after Iâve had a shower? And maybe a meal thatâs not made out of powdered rats?â she snickers and Rosa laughs at the lame joke. Lisa finds she likes that sound, a lot. âYeah, sure. Just donât let Hartley hear you say that or heâll go on his Greenpeace rampage about his âprecious furry babiesâ again,â Rosa rolls her eyes and Lisa can only agree to that. Her stomachâs almost unknotted when Rosa leans back in and her lips brush the shell of Lisaâs ear.âSo how long do your showers usually take? Just so I know if I should start without you, you know.âLisaâs pretty sure her brain wonât come back online for at least a day. But maybe, thatâs not a bad thing - after all, there will always be enough time to worry later.Â
