So in 2017...after being single for 3yrs, I courageously welcomed a new relationship, which was a huge scary step for me. I also had the opportunity to travel to the beautiful Puerto Rico, where I was surrounded by island life and the ocean. Here, I learned so much about myself. I learned that I was not a pessimist; My instinctual tribal nature kicked in while hiking the jungle and jumping into a deep waterfall to be renewed. Puerto Rico’s protected rainforest has taught me how important, biologically diverse and special it was. I felt very alive and at home in Puerto Rico, I was sad to leave. After my return to Chicago, I accepted the end of a short lived relationship. We were incompatible. I was back to drawing board, I questioned what did all this mean? In the meanwhile, I focused on growing my family, and true friendships bonds. I also disconnected myself from faux-friendships, and toxic ideas, old beliefs & anything that was not serving my growth. It took me 3 months to formulate and connect the dots in my life. Eureka! It hit me, everything I had ever learned was guiding me in a very meaningful, purposeful, direction.......I decided to focus my energy & commit myself to a more eco friendly, conscious, and meaningful life. I would invest my energy where it was needed most....life (planet) which will effectively help people. I updated my blog to produce a more ecolifestyle content. I’ve welcomed new friends into my life and have also had to walk away from toxic friendships and stand up for my beliefs and wellbeing. To that I am most proud of myself, to that I raise a glass! To close 2017, I spent the New Year with my family which is the 1st in a long time. Cheers to new beginnings in 2018, Happy New Year!!!! How was your 2017? My resolution: is to be more vulnerable with you. #happynewyear #chicagoblogger #citygirlifestyle #ecoblogger #newbeginnings #resolution #intentionalliving #ecolifestyle #purposefulliving #noregrets #youonlyliveonce #newme #friendships #relationships #citylights #cityscape #sunsets #motivational #connections #spiritualawakening #journey #trustyourjourney #happynewyear2018 #goinggreen #lessismore #goingminimal (at Edge of Edgewater)
