Slapped together poster I made awhile back for Phantom szn 2.

Something I wish was more explored in canon.

And something I really try to showcase in my au is how the people around these 2 shaped how they used their powers.

Cuz it's no secret that the scenarios around how they got their powers shaped them into who they were meant to be.

Vlad both in Canon and my Au has his accident and he's completely alone through the entire ordeal, no family no friends noone who could ever hope to understand what he was going through , he's lonely then that loneliness turns to bitterness and then to resentment until finally it evolves into hate. Add to the fact that canon Vlad doesn't speak to Jack for 20 years after his accident and never reconciled with him while also fully believing that he's right for feeling and behaving the way he does and you can see why he ends up the way he does. Although he makes use of them to Vlad these powers aren't a gift they aren't a blessing they're a curse, a reminder of how he lost everything he held dear and how he'll never get that back. He has no Tucker and Sam to protect, to give him confidence or to steer him into using them in a positive direction. In the end Plasmius is nothing more than the manifestation of one mans loneliness and how he lashes out because of it. Of course you can make an argument that Vlad was always a bad person but we're gonna ignore that for now.

Now compare that to Danny.

Danny in both canon and my AU gets his powers and immediately he has his friends at his side and they're the ones doing the utmost best to keep him on the straight and narrow. Sam admonished him when he uses his powers for the wrong reasons,and he is constantly trying to do the right thing because he has a support system that he wants to do right by. Danny rarely if ever looks at his powers as a burden cuz even in moments where he wants to he has his friends by his side reassuring him that his powers are the coolest thing ever. Even in season 3 we see that he gets to a point where he actually likes heroics. Unlike Vlad these powers didn't strip Danny of his life they just added a new layer to it. Jazz tells him how proud she is of him, he's getting more confident and Even Jack and Maddie who hate his hero persona and are questionable parents have shown time and time again that they love their son no matter what.

And idk I just find that duality so interesting.

CHAPTER EIGHT

CHAPTER 8:Plasmius rises.

The Ghost assailant gave Plasmius a quizzical look but didn't let the emergence of a new opponent concern him.

Vlad(canon) meets Vlad(My au) part 1

Note:"In my au Vlad is also just called Vlad so to distinguish imma just call my Vlad Vladimir since Technically that is his full name"

Vlad:"So you're me from an alternate reality eh?"

Vladimir:"I suppose so...have to say you're not exactly what I imagined...."

Vlad:"what do you mean?"

Vladimir:"It's just I never pictured another me to be soooo........ theatrical."

Vlad:"what do you mean, theatrical?"

Vladimir:"you're wearing eyeliner....."

Vlad:"....no I'm not..."

Vladimir:"Yes you are...."

Vlad:"well umm even if I am so are you!"

Vladimir:".....the skin under my eyes was permanently darkened after my accident I just look like this now."

Vlad:"Permanent eyeliner....damn thats convenient.... wait you mentioned your accident does that mean you also got your powers...."

Vladimir:"In a prototype ghost portal accident thanks to Jacks negligence? Yeah...

Vlad:"and were you also hospitalized for seven years with neither Jack and Maddie coming to visit you?"....

Vladimir:"I beg your pardon?"

Vlad:"are you saying that you weren't hospitalized?"

Vladimir:"Yes I was hospitalized but for a few months not 7 years."

Vlad:"Only a few months!? You lucky bastard! "

Vladimir:"and Jack never visited you?"

Vlad:"no, I didn't see Jack again until 20 years later and by then he simply assumed that enough time had passed that I'd have forgiven him."

Vladimir:"wait...did he never even apologize?"

Vlad shakes his head.

Vladimir:"wow, your Jack sounds like..."

Vlad:"a total ass? Yes yes he is upon our reunion 20 years after his accident one of the first things he did was tackle me.."

Vladimir:".....in a romantic way?"

Vlad:"what? in a he's a 6ft5 300 pound man trying to play touch football sort of way!"

Vladimir:"that doesn't answer my question..."

Vlad:"I'm starting to think me and my Jack have a very different relationship than whatever it is you two have going on in your dimension."

Vladimir:"well me and Jack actually don't have any sort of relationship,he stopped ghost hunting after my accident and we haven't spoken in years."

Vlad:"incredible does that mean young Daniel doesn't have ghost powers in your world."

Vladimir:"no he does..."

Vlad:"well that just doesn't add up, but I suppose different scenarios are capable of yielding similar results in this vast multiverse."

Vladimir:"glad to see despite your clearly theatrical upbringing you still share my brilliance."

Vlad:"shut up!"

Vladimir:"but seven years is incredible, how did you manage to keep Plasmius at bay for so long?"

Vlad:"what do you mean?"

Vladimir:"after the accident, did your ghost half not also manifest itself into a separate personality that harbored all your negative traits and hidden trauma?"

Vlad:"what!? No! I just turn blue and get pointy hair."

Vladimir:"wait so you had full control the entire time? No burning people with ecto rays or almost killing your own father?"

Vlad:"....."

Vladimir:"Why are you looking at me like that?"

Vlad:".......are....are you unwell?"
