quick tip: i think an important way to make sure your characterization isnât falling flat is to figure out what theyâre most afraid of.
this goes for both ocs and that one character from that one thing you like, but iâm mostly talking about the love interest characters.
if their biggest fear is losing/being rejected the main character/the one guy, you should probably check double check what their interests and fears actually are, because while thatâs a perfectly good fear to have when written well, if all of their likes and dislikes revolve around the mc, and youâre not writing a horror or a meta commentary on stereotypes and cliches, you have a problem with the characterization (i used to have this issue when writing).
starting with what a character is afraid of is a good gauge on who they are as a person, and can help flesh them out more.

iâm a postgrad statistics researcher and i can tell you that the state honestly has NO IDEA what to do with the data it collects, it has an obsession with big data but itâs almost impossible to work with in practice. the traditional statistical approaches that are used canât be scaled up, the adapted approaches are substantially weakened, and the machine learning approaches have the same problems and often tell them nothing. data scientists are only just coming around to these issues too, most still just push on with it anyway - incompetence is the word.
above all this though, like you say, the biggest issue for the state is at the point of data collection. they will NEVER get anything useful if theyâre collecting shitty messy data. they will eventually figure out that the real solution is working how to collect accurate and meaningful data, we should make it as difficult as possible for them to do that

WhatCampaign replaces analytics parameters in links with the string âFuckOffâ. I thought there was a similar extension that used random strings, but I canât seem to find it

heâs freezing to the bone but his surroundings practically glimmer under the light of the moon-

a hooded figure with a makeshift shepherdâs crook is perched on one of the trees, frost spreading from their fingers as they draw on the bark, seeming not to have noticed him.

i like to think it has similar magic to the spirits in the sense that you can only go there if you believe it (or something of its caliber) to exist, except itâs purely associated with jacks existence, so unless you believe in him, it wont let you in
jack knows this, so when hiccup eventually gathers the courage to call out to him, he 100% loses his balance on that branch, because, what the fuck, thereâs just a guy here now, a random regular looking dude just waltzed into what is essentially his home and politely greeted him while getting frostbite
this is set only a few months after rotg, so obviously heâs got a million questions; âyou can see me?â âwhatâs your name?â âhow did you get here?â âare you lost?â âare people really believing in me that quick?â etc. but the only response he gets is an awkward âuhâ and he quickly realizes that the guy is by his lake and therefore must be absolutely freezing, moons above, where are his manners?? he needs to get this guy outta here before he passes out
