Iām glad to find a fellow Mononokean fan- its western fanbase is so small ;_; I might be drawing them soon since I like the series a lot, but I'm not promising anything!
I donāt really have a strong opinion about it, since I know very little about the movies production. I think itās totally lame that they highlighted some traits in each school and slapped gender norms on them - Beauxbatons was all about beauty and grace, feminine,Ā while Durmstrang was rough, strong, thus, āmanlyā. Yikes. It was probably so they could make the viewers form an image of both schools easily, since the films are always so heavy in information, but yeah, thatās just my guess.

Hi! I like you version of hp yoi au, but it always bugged me that Viktor is in Durmstrang even though he's Russian. I mean I get it is for the plot but Durmstrang is not really culturally close to Russia, especially when there is Russian own wizarding school. So I wanted to suggest maybe you could create a little Koldovstoretz!Viktor au? I mean there's not much information about the school itself but it still would be a very interesting version - and so much freedom to imagination :) Thank you!

There is a reason I particularly didnāt choose Koldovstoretz for Viktor, neither Mahoutokoro for Yuuri, and itās simple!
Itād limit the amount of people who would enjoy it - there arenāt many people who havenāt seen the movies or read the books, but now, fans who actively sought more knowledge on the lore beyond these two pieces of media are considerable smaller in number. I personally got into HP in this level only two years ago!
I may get some info wrong sometimes, but I DO worry about accuracy and actually did research(this little jab goes to everyone who keeps messaging me stuff likeĀ ā3rd years canāt enter the tournamentā orĀ ābeauxbatons is a mixed schoolā because Iām so tired and these questions were already cleared if you guys took the time to read my posts carefully). But the thing is, between accuracy and enjoyment, I prefer the latter.
In other words, I wanted to create something Iād enjoy and connect easily and share this experience with other people!

It takes much more work to relate to a universe where I created most of its structure, instead of trying to stick to an already known one(Hogwarts).
Not mentioning that it gives ME much more work, too, and this is why Iāll also decline your offer! Currently I have my hands full with IRL stuff and commissions, so Iām not accepting requests. After I get my Yurio and Chris ideas out of my system, Iām probably focusing on my own personal projects, as Iāve already said once.

Oh, thereās also a minor reason, a more personal one- Iām not particularly a fan of these other schools. I mean, the ideas are cool and all - I personally like the idea of Mahoutokoroās uniform, but I have lots of mixed feelings. While I really admire Rowlingās efforts on expanding the lore, sometimes it feels ā¦.meh.
Iām from Brazil, but have you seen the brazilian school? Its name literally mean āwizard castleā, and of course itās in the middle of the amazon rainforest- thatās so Brazil, right?

The Triwizard Tournament originally didnāt have an age restriction, and stopped being held due to its high death toll. It actually only came back after 200 years, when Harry was at Hogwarts, thanks to the new restrictions that the Ministry imposed - and one of them was the Age Line.
Now, I already talked about why Iām stubborn about the characters ages in this AU, so I just . . . pretended like the Age Line wasnāt a thing hahaha ooops Itās not too far-fetched, after all!!
Anyway, the wiki page will probably be more informative than me, so itās worth checking it out if you feel so inclined! <:

To be honest, by this point Iām not planning on anything else big- I think my next post will consist mostly of where other characters stand in this AU(like Yurio and Phichit), and maaaybe something else for Victor and Yuuri, but probably in present time. This AU was very fun to create, but I donāt think Iāll expand that much on it, since I have my own personal projects as well and Iāve been struggling to find time;; ol-< But Iām really happy by how well-received it was!
Now- I can still reply to your questions with my personal choices on this AU. If you consider them to be definitive answers or not, though, thatās your choice!
I got a bit excited over it, so, beware! THIS IS LOOONG.
- They grow closer to eachother by keeping in touch via letters. Yuuriās bring great joy to Victor, who emotionally supports Yuuri whenever heās struggling.
- That has limitations, ofc - no matter how fast you reply, thereās always a delay between the letters, and they grow more distant with the passing of the years, overcome by their own busy lives.
- So, by the time Yuuri is a 5th year(remember the O.W.L. tests? rip), their contact is reduced to periodical letters. Victorās only been busier since he decided to dedicate his full time to quidditch, after graduating.
- And thatās how it goes. By the time Yuuri graduates, he barely knows about Victorās life outside the news. His school life is very different, tho- with his own efforts and Victorās support, he managed to overcome a lot of challanges, is a lot more confident and while still a little anti-social, he has friends and even fans? ? ?(hello, minami)
- now, I DONāT KNOW WHERE TF YUURI WOULD WORK.Ā I wanted something kinda flashy but that would also leave a window for personal expression. Heād also work alone and this job would highlight his love for magic in general. Is there a job like that
- It wouldnt be quidditch related, but heād still be a huge fan of it. And Victor(altho Yuuri doesnāt idolizes him as much as he did before they met)
- They meet. Coincidentally. idk how but they do- itās at some party and Yuuriās drunk bc ep10 is (praying hands emoji). Victorās has a hard time recognizing this new Yuuri and is like āWHO TF IS THISā but is far from displeased by it. Yuuri gets very affectionate when drunk. And hot. Right.
Ā - After that, Victor decides to contact Yuuri again and they meet and talk properly. Itās REALLY awkward tho. They used to mean so much to eachother, and still do, but now itās something more like a precious memory that you hold close, after all those years of distance, and that you fill with other things in your life.
- And uhhhm they manage to get closer again. Their relationship is different, but stronger! Theyāre both adults now, and can support each other and yadda yadda things happen but its a happy ending!
And thatās it.Ā
As a bonus, I personally like the idea that Victor actually always loved Yuuri. It wouldnāt be something as *cough* clear-cut as romantic love esp at the beginning, tho, but nevertheless, heĀ never felt like itād be proper to make a move, because of their ages and also because Yuuriās grasp on his own feelings was never solid enough. He didnāt want to push that. But his feelings were still there even after they stopped talking, and rekindled when they met again in the future, assuming a whole new form after getting closer again.
