GABBING ABOUT MY DND GAME/ONE OF THE NPCS (Valor)
The tragedy of Valor, Ramiel’s father, is that life had already beat him into the dust (forced to make lose/lose decisions when he was in charge of a squad of soldiers, leading to the death of his best friend’s daughter. Said best friend would go on to kill their ex-comrades for their inaction anyways) and then he met his wife who put him back together and gave him a son, and then she disappeared having left a mysterious note- leaving Valor to raise Ramiel all alone.
Except he didn’t do that because Valor thought Ramiel would be safer and overall better off growing up in Eden under devotees of the war god, Rhys. So Valor spent like 20-some years alone, wallowing in his own sorrow.
Despite himself, Ramiel invited Valor to Casas, where his fiancé and the families of his friends have helped Valor reclaim something of a life for himself.
(Actually another PC’s father has pulled Valor into their polycule so now they have kind of a throuple situation going on. Valor’s life is looking pretty good except his son has left on a quest to find his mom/Valor’s missing wife- which probably feels bad in its own right but u kno- BETTER THAN BEFORE, PROBABLY.)
Ramiel had resented his likeness to Valor but now it’s just kind of an indisputable fact and if anything he looks Even More like Valor- it’ll still get under his skin if it’s meant as an insult but the argument is less of a ‘that’s not true’ and more like ‘what OF it’.
Ramiel’s feelings towards Valor have softened- AT LEAST, LIKE, A LITTLE BIT. But their father/son relationship is maybe forever limited because Valor just wasn’t there for him during those formative years.
