God is our Shield! Psalm 18:30
“Everything God does is perfect; the promise of the Eternal rings true; He stands as a shield for all who hide in Him.” (VOICE) “What a God He is! How perfect in every way! All His promises prove true. He is a shield for everyone who hides behind Him. His road stretches straight and smooth. Every God-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward Him makes it.” (TLB, MSG)
Everything God says and does is 100% pure. He is faithful, unchanging, perfect. We are not. That is why we need Jesus, as our bridge to God. Friend, you may feel like you will never measure up to God’s perfection and the honest truth is you won’t, because none of us will. There has only ever been one perfect human and He took everything bad we’ve ever said or done, washed us whiter than white and promised us entry to God’s Kingdom, so we can be with Him if we want to. Jesus never lies or breaks a promise. Jesus is the Word that always “proves true”, the “secure shelter for all those who turn to hide themselves in Him! He is the wrap-around God giving grace to us.” And Friend, you are an “all those”. Amen!
PRAYER (based on translations of Psalm 18:30): Lord, Your ways are perfect - help us to walk in them daily. Your Word is pure, dependable, tried, tested, true - help us to rely on Your Word in everything we do. You are our one true God and you always act in a faithful manner. Help us to be as faithful to You as You are to us. Your promises are reliable and always prove to be true. Help us to live in Your promises. You protect those who trust in You, may we always rest our trust in You. Help us to be patient and wait on Your perfect timing, because You will always come through for us. You shield ANYONE who runs to You for help, safety, protection. Help us to ALWAYS run to You, because we can trust that You will NEVER turn us away! With You we can run through a whole troop of men, with our God we can leap a wall! Keep us strong in You, no matter what the circumstances. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
