We had to pay an entry fee to get in, and after showing our tickets, we entered the National Botanical Garden. The view was absolutely stunning and even better than what I remembered from a long time ago. There have been significant changes in the plantings, and they've also created clear pathways for the visitors to explore. The improvements made the experience even more enjoyable, and I was impressed by the positive changes they've made over the years.

Godawari, as described in the book, is a paradise for nature enthusiasts, with an impressive diversity of species. Around 1000 plant species are conserved here, both in-situ and ex-situ. I asked one of the preservers present there, and he said This entire godawari area is home to 256 different bird species, accounting for one-third of all bird species in Nepal. Furthermore, Godawari is known for having over 300 kinds of butterflies and moths, which add to the vivid array of life seen in this area.

I believe the Godawari’s National Botanical Garden was one of the areas carefully conserved by our Government. But there is still lot of work to be done. Some of my recommendations are:

Preserving godawari demands a comprehensive strategy. The government should declare it a protected area and make it mandatory for sustainable tourist activities. It has the potential to become one of the top tourism destinations for both internal and external tourists.

Let’s involve local people and try to construct more required infrastructure, as well as educate every tourists about the history and present circumstances, and perform regular monitoring locally also collaborating with other NGOs and INGOs if possible.

Let us assure law enforcement and strive to put a long-term plan in place. If our efforts fail, let’s seek international assistance and conduct restoration operations.
