I didn't think I gave off the impression that I felt... less trans? Believe me, I dealt with that shit in group therapy when I was 18-20yrs old. Being the only genderfluid person of the group, I was pretty much told I wasn't trans enough and constantly put in Other (aka You Don't Belong Here) status -- not just by the therapists, but by the other members who were lucky enough to go through phases of transition (Every new person who joined the group would raise a brow at me, lean back on their hip and ask, rather unpleasantly, "so.... like... what are you?" And I got so sick of it, I said I was male-to-female, and damn wasn't I gorgeous). I remember going back to the living quarters with one of my friends who went to the same group with me after each session so we could each bitch about how horrible group was for another two hours. So yeah, I might also have a long-standing chip on my shoulder, but I know that and acknowledge it and do my best to restrain myself. I don't apologise to anyone now for being who or what I am. But I just don't need to be reminded about how much farther I have to go and how much faster everyone else is able to get through their transition, and the support other people have that I don't. It really hurts.
