That night is far less polite, the man wakes up with his clothes torn to shreds, wrapped tight around him like makeshift rope hanging from the ceiling of some dingy warehouse, while the Goblin stares at him from across the room with golden lenses glowing like demon's eyes in the night. A pumpkin bomb so angrily thrusted into his mouth it has undoubtedly broken a few teeth. Yet there sits the Goblin, staring at him. A polite little wave, another demonic cackle.

He falls, cut loose from his bindings and the second his head makes contact with the pavement, the bomb goes off.

She wakes up to his half of the bed being empty— and she wasn’t a lick surprised. He’d been aggressive when they’d returned to his penthouse but not in any way that she was upset about. She shifted— still aching a little and having let the bruises remain though, for a moment, she considers healing them. But if Norman had left without her? She hadn’t been welcome to the party.

Not that she didn’t know why of course— the speed that Norman had crossed the room had made her smile. She’d been feigning attention with a biotech engineer who had far more compliments and unwanted looks that made her want to simply make him… cease to be. Unravel him one chromosome at a time until he was no more than unintelligible biomass. But she instead used a skill she had honed quite well— the ability to look enraptured and delighted despite mentally dissecting them.

It was the moment she had caught Norman’s eyes just before that grin stretched his features— just moments before his prey lost his last exit. That’s when she knew this was inevitable. She shifts— stretching out along the bed her pale skin a stark contrast against the deep purple sheets. She arches her back before sliding off her edge of the bed choosing to grab a black silk robe to wrap around herself. She’d be hard pressed to tell you why— the only person that would be there had seen her far more exposed.

Then she heard it— the familiar gait of her paramour. Hurried. Not because he had any place to be but perhaps because he had hoped to be back before she woke. Not that he was keeping secrets from her or anything, but more to not interrupt the routine they’d found themselves building. Or some semblance of one. Or even more likely he was still leaning into that delightful madness of his. She pulled the robe around herself before leaning against the doorway to the master bedroom. Her black lips curve the moment she catches him moving through the dark of the living area. Still suited up.

Now I’m not sure if I’m just particularly lucky but them women in my life…? Stunning. Which means Helena is no different. She gets extra points for us meeting doing one of my favourite extracurriculars. She spoils me, and she needn’t do so. But it’s appreciated nonetheless.

You of all people know how much I love it for Mami when she is in love— because she loves very intensely and thoroughly and I entirely attribute that to having experienced a lack of it growing up. But also? Not only does she accept both of their monsters— even revels in and celebrates them with the both of them? She isn’t judged for hers. Roman’s aware of the human trials she runs for her contagions? He provides her with subjects. There’s no chance that Mami doesn’t do work for Norman, either— I think we’ve landed that her pharmaceutical company is an affiliate of Oscorp. She’s a biological weapons developers. Roman has zero things he wants to change in her and Norman’s only problem isn’t actually her but her father.

To be fair, of course, Roman gets a version of her that isn’t raised by a Sinister— he gets one that’s developed almost entirely around being her. Except it got some kind of a lifelong lesson in morality. Considering the backstory is along the lines of ‘mafia princess’ - it’s not much of a lesson and didn’t have restrictions to keep her from being a depraved, sadistic, menace.

I honestly think it’s like what I brought up over on Discord— monster recognizing monster. Like, both elements of either of these relationships are absolutely horrible but when it comes down to it? That really doesn’t matter because they’re monsters together. Roman can count on Mami to be right there at his side when it comes to torturing prisoners and Norman need only say the word and she’ll be happy to play support for the Green Goblin right at his side.

They turn being awful into a couples activity— and I love that for them.

Can we also talk about how she is ride or die from the moment she steps onto the attraction? Because those are her husbands and you can pry them from her cold dead hands, thanks. u-u
