Beelzemon wouldn't fuck up her burger like this. Beelzemon would never let her down like this. Beelzemon would never give her disappointing food.
At least the poutine is fine.
"Can my momdad not beef with one cowboy, please?"
She'd been stuck at home since the incident. Everyone was doing their own part to fix the city, and Kiryuu was stuck on bed rest. Well, she wasn't staying in bed was the thing. She had just enough energy to get from room to room, eat, and finally bathe.
Someone had been sticking around.
Someone needed to be told an important message.
"So... my mom's flying over. Tomorrow."

clemency's true feelings towards joceran will follow her to the afterlife.
on the surface, she is the model widow. she speaks highly of her husband and frequently recalls memories of him in the hopes that she will not be the last living person who knows his name. she still practices many of the arts he taught her in their century together, and even lives in the very manor he died in.
yet, deep within her heart, she resents him all the way through: for leading her off of the devout path, for marrying her, for turning her, for isolating her, for dying.
she would have been better off if she had never met him. perhaps she could have been a benedictine sister, like she had been looking forward to for much of her early life, or she could have met a mortal man and had children, like her sisters… instead, she is caught in nigh-constant grief, caught between obligation to the past and a desire to look towards the future.
