Sounding my barbaric yawp over the rooftops of... Central Alabama! A few miles from Montgomery. This is a beautiful State, lots of history and amazing (quiet/lonely) hiking opportunities around Dadeville and Jacksons Gap.

Fresh and long-awaited news arrived yesterday : so now I can say I’m officially going to teach French in an American university in August, and that will be in St Joseph, Missouri ! Which is very funny for a Jesse James fan. Family is a bit scared by tornadoes and winter, but for my part it’s such a relief to get a visa after one year of procedures that I cannot wait to be there :-)
This is 2016, and the beginning of 2017 summed up in a super home-made illustration with Casey Affleck. Yes. Because I’ve spent most of the previous year submitting an application to become a university teaching assistant in the United States, and because two days ago I was told it was officially accepted (after exams and interviews at the embassy in Paris). And because now, I have to wait until spring to know the vacant positions, make my "wishlist” and see where I’ll be finally sent in September ... that is, anywhere in the country. But I assume I can start saying : “Hello America, here I come !” ... Right ? :-)
I’ve changed location each year, in France or abroad, for the past 5 years. I have the impression I’ve spent half of my twenties packing and selecting things, haha ! Well, this time the good thing is that ... I’m “packing” my cat too ! I couldn’t bring it with me in Canada nor in Guernsey, so it’s good news. She’s 16 years old but still healthy, lively and she’s moved out twice and traveled without any problem. So right now, I’m packing cat food, brush and toys ! xD
