I remember seeing this video a while ago by The Gaurdian about anti-blackness in Brazil. I returned to it yesterday and looked through the comments. Most people are sympathetic to the discrimination that black people face globally. One of the commenters was a girl from India who spoke about her own experience with colorism in India. She also mentioned that Africans in India can be mobbed. They can and they have been. One of the people who replied told her that wasn't true and that she was lying to get attention or something. That really pissed me off. India does have an issue with blackness. Africans who go there to study get attacked and face hostility from Indians who believe in stupid stereotypes about black people. And if you just Google search "violence against Africans in India," you will see the articles discussing the attacks against black people there. It's sad. Literally all over the world, people hate us. It hurts. It pisses me off when people deny it. They don't want to acknowledge negative things about their culture or themselves. And nothing will change as long as they continue to behave that way. Nothing will change unless people are willing to face and deconstruct their own prejudices about other groups of people. I wish people would stop and think and treat others better. I'm sad. People are just awful.đ
Anyway, this is the video: Too Black for Brazil.
And here are a couple of articles about attacks on Africans living in India:
