okay so i haven't really thought of any new lore, but i'm having thoughts of how i wanna make Discord and Karma's relationship be like. I obviously chose those words as names for a reason, but i'm honestly not too sure how i wanna put their name into lore?

So Sonic's name is Discord, because his entire life and trauma is about being 'out of harmony' and his life generally being all over the place. I want to put that somewhere in the lore, but i don't know how or where the appropriate place to put it. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of Sonic slowly ruining Shadow/Karma's life by being the 'being of chaos'... plus, yk, hm being a cannibal and feasting on Shadow/Karma and all, but through small actions.

For example, in one instance where he goes too far with cannibalistic urges/fails at something small, he completely loses his mind with anger/humiliation and lashes out. This would be where the 'out of harmony' part would play. He can't and won't ever be able to find a happy ending due to his own mental instability and urges.

For Shadow's name being Karma, i was thinking of him befriending Sonic being his 'karma', or therefore consequence of any future trauma in relation to Sonic/Discord. I also wanted to play his name as a sort of contrast to Sonic; while he could be in 'perfect harmony', and not have to deal with any negative consequences with this trauma-bonded relationship, his 'bad luck' or poor decision making (due to being a blind follower), has made it so he is the being of 'karma'.

Another reason why I wanted this to be a contrast of his person to Sonic/Karma's is that Shadow personality wise, is the complete opposite. It's Discord's (out of harmony, yadda yadda) own being that causes Karma to 'fall out of line', hence where the 'karma' plays into part.

So basically, they play into each other's trauma and poor mental health because it's the only thing they know how to do to survive.

At some point, I want to try to bring Tails and other characters into play, but I haven't thought that far... hence the lack of art for this au </3

MY Shadow would find out via Sonic mentioning Jet in a conversation. Like Sonic would be like 'hey I can't race you today my other rival Jet wants to race instead. I have to give all my rivals equal attention'.

(lowkey Sonic treats all his rivals like they're his children. He claims he has no favorites, but he absolutely does. It's Shadow.)

And Shadow's brain would just tumble those words for a few minutes, then it would finally click. He would then freak the fuck out and just start demanding- yelling- at Sonic to explain why he wasn't the ONE AND ONLY rival.

Shadow: WHO SAID YOU COULD HAVE MORE THAN ONE?? I WAS THE FIRST!! I GOT YOU FIRST!!

Sonic: Bro... just say you wanna kiss me. 😏

hmmmm yes! But I'm going to be VERY specific here.

I think that only fem Sonic in Forces, Frontiers, and MAYBE Boom would have a deeper voice. I think it'd be not necessarily deep, but definitely lower and possibly a little raspy.

But when she get super energetic or loud it goes up a little in terms of pitch.

I know you didn't ask, but fem SHADOW. MMM FEM SHADOW my beloved <3

I think fem Shadow in ALL universes would have a deep, smooth voice. I don't really like when people hc fem Shadow having a raspy cigarette voice, that just doesn't make any sense to me 😭

I've always thought Shadow would have SOME kind of accent, but I've never thought of it being Russian lol. I usually like giving him the latino accent or a german accent.

I ALSO love making the hc that both Shads and Sonic can speak multiple languages (including all types of sign language ofc) so they can properly speak to people around mobius/earth.

Okay, in my head i have a detailed layout of Team Dark's huge cottage house.

Rouge's room is on the second floor, Shadow's main room is right next to hers, and Omega takes the living room (the only thing he has is a charging box for himself lol). The downstairs is normal, with a kitchen and living room and whatnot.

BUTTTT hidden in the storage closet is another, smaller door hidden behind coats and stuff. Behind that door is just a bunker-like room with cluttered tables and one big alter table in the middle facing the door.

Rouge went inside the storage closet cuz she needed smthn (idk what) and one of the coats were gone, so therefore, the small door could be seen. She went inside and saw all the Sonic shit.

At first, she was just completely shocked to silence, body tense. Then she simply sighed. Like she knew Shadow's obsession was bad, but not that bad.

Her thoughts after the initial shock was, genuinely, truly debating whether or not she needed to put Shadow in a mental asylum.

Then she realized that this was Shadow, so... y'know. There's not a lot left that could help that poor, forsaken, old man. She just quietly left and never mentioned it to anyone for the rest of her life.

Sometimes she'll go in and just observe as the space gets slowly more cluttered of stuff that's Sonic related (and stuff that was just plain old stolen right from under Sonic's nose). She didn't know whether to be proud or worried each time.

in every fic of my au, everytime i depict Longclaw eating or making food, it's always meat (because owls are predetors and it gives her an unsettling vibe)

Sonic starts to eat more meat the sicker he gets

oooo now THIS is interesting. So is it because he's becoming more like her, he feels the need to eat more meat (a 'since i'm so much like her, might as well' kinda thing?) Or is it due to some other cause?

Maybe he's desperate and using meat as a means of escape somehow?

ooohhh this is such a great question. Hmm.

Just a heads up, I don't exactly know the beauty standards over there, so it's hard to say. I don't really have clear take on it when I don't understand it.

BUT.

I think Shadow would obvi make him eat more, talk through Sonic's internal dilemma, but plus more. I think Shadow would secretly get rid of all social media on Sonic's phone, keep him away from people who actively partake in those harmful standards, and keep Sonic inside during Sonic's particularly rough patches where he simply cannot stand to be outside.
