Cannibal Sonic

Discord (Sonic): The Anti-hero; uses chaos emeralds to defeat the doctor, but also to feed his urges when nothing else works. Seems to enjoy the presence of his brother and l0ovEr(?) the most. Refuses to talk about his past or where he came from, despite loving the thrill of throwing in facts about himself randomly. Can't handle his emotions, so he takes it out on nearby trees or the walls. That's fine, Karma can calm him down.

Personality: Sarcastic, cocky, angry despite always smiling, mischievous, kind to children

Favorite things: Karma, Karma's flesh and blood, his brother, kicking Robotnik's ass, sleeping, nature, loves a good chase/running

Least favorite things: Small spaces, water, white spaces, hallways, strangers, crying, being away from Karma, his little brother being too far, when his throat burns and his stomach aches

Karma (Shadow): The Dark Hero; only comes in to save the day when Sonic asks. He cares, but gets stuck in his own head. That's fine, Discord can get him out of it. Will always have the green chaos emerald on him for Discord. Karma does what he has to to keep Discord sane and safe from the harm of prying eyes. Enjoys the presence his brother and Discord the most. He can't remember where he came from, but dreams of a girl with blonde hair will always haunt him.

Personality: Quiet, timid, always frowning despite his sincerity, kind to children

Favorite things: the sky/stars, the color blue, Discord, keeping Discord safe, cooking, nature, walking

Least favorite things: crying, shouting, large empty spaces, dreaming, hunting, being away from Discord, not having an emerald on hand, when the weird rings on his joints spark

okay so i haven't really thought of any new lore, but i'm having thoughts of how i wanna make Discord and Karma's relationship be like. I obviously chose those words as names for a reason, but i'm honestly not too sure how i wanna put their name into lore?

So Sonic's name is Discord, because his entire life and trauma is about being 'out of harmony' and his life generally being all over the place. I want to put that somewhere in the lore, but i don't know how or where the appropriate place to put it. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of Sonic slowly ruining Shadow/Karma's life by being the 'being of chaos'... plus, yk, hm being a cannibal and feasting on Shadow/Karma and all, but through small actions.

For example, in one instance where he goes too far with cannibalistic urges/fails at something small, he completely loses his mind with anger/humiliation and lashes out. This would be where the 'out of harmony' part would play. He can't and won't ever be able to find a happy ending due to his own mental instability and urges.

For Shadow's name being Karma, i was thinking of him befriending Sonic being his 'karma', or therefore consequence of any future trauma in relation to Sonic/Discord. I also wanted to play his name as a sort of contrast to Sonic; while he could be in 'perfect harmony', and not have to deal with any negative consequences with this trauma-bonded relationship, his 'bad luck' or poor decision making (due to being a blind follower), has made it so he is the being of 'karma'.

Another reason why I wanted this to be a contrast of his person to Sonic/Karma's is that Shadow personality wise, is the complete opposite. It's Discord's (out of harmony, yadda yadda) own being that causes Karma to 'fall out of line', hence where the 'karma' plays into part.

So basically, they play into each other's trauma and poor mental health because it's the only thing they know how to do to survive.

At some point, I want to try to bring Tails and other characters into play, but I haven't thought that far... hence the lack of art for this au </3

hehe i have a lot of random and loosely connected lore bits! I honestly haven't really connected them ALL, so if u have any specific lore questions feel free to ask em!

so rn, all I have lore of Discord's past, and why he's a 'cannibal'.

Discord was made in a lab of sorts (which, with the way i've written/drawn it, is more like a mental institution, but with like scientific lab stuff, idk yet lmao), and his primary 'nurse' or 'scientist' experimented on him and his chaos energy to turn him into a powerful weapon to take over Mobius/Earth.

Because of these inhumane, gory experiments, plus being stuck in a hospital with no way out, Discord began to chew on his arms or just random objects as a coping mechanism to distract himself from all other pain, whether it's emotional or physical.

One day, his 'nurse' took an experiment too far and Sonic lashed out, biting into his flesh to protect himself and accidentally swallowing it. Thus, the beginning of his mental break, which turned him into a 'cannibal'.

But even with Discord's mental break, all he wants to do is help people and save others who can't save themselves, despite his selfish intentions and hobbies. It's like a hero complex/superiority complex to him; it makes him feel like he has the higher power, which he didn't get in the hospital.

I also had an alternate idea where Discord's chaos energy burns through his body super fast, and normal meat/food simply can't cure it, so he eats the flesh of mobians with high amount of chaos energy to feed himself so he can stay alive.

And when he meets Karma, Discord instantly attaches himself to him because of his power high chaos energy. They strike a deal (for some reason, idk that yet either). Discord agrees to only feed on Karma in turn that Karma stays loyal to him/his side only, never letting someone else get close at all. Karma is his.

(Eventually Tails comes into play, but that piece hasn't been fully thought out yet sighhh)

I'm not totally sure which one I want to go with, but i already made a comic with the first idea, so ig i'll just go with that one, or somehow mix the two.
