This fic is everything I want in a Professor!Harry AU. It is really wonderfully written, has lovely characterization (especially of McGonagall), and really focuses on Harry rebuilding his life and the wizarding world after the war. I absolutely love this fic and would highly recommend it. Harry/Ginny is comfortably present in the background but definitely not a focus

There’s a delightful sub-genre of Professor!Harry fics centered around the Potter-Weasley children at Hogwarts. This one features the kids brought for a day in a babysitter crisis, plus a wonderful McGonagall cameo.

I’m gonna exclude any co-writes I’ve done, since I’m pretty sure the openings we written by my fellow co-writers and not me :p 

PATTERNS: So, apparently I do this thing where it’s either one elongated sentence linked with a bunch of commas or short sentences with a bunch of full stops? It’s a creative decision though. The elongated ones tend to be more descriptive, I guess? The shortened one, I’ve learnt usually helps set the tone - urgent or not, for example. 

Apparently I don’t start with dialogue :p Never really noticed that until now haha. 

Idk if I spot anything else? 

I’m Glad I Met You:  The aroma of caffeine greets Will as he steps out of the bedroom and pads down the hallway in his woolly socks to the living room.

It’s Always Darkest Before Dawn:  His hands are shaking. His hands are shaking and he can't stop it and if he doesn't get his shit together, Dean's gonna see it. He can't let Dean see it. He's been good.

Bleeding Out:  If he really had to choose, that is, if he ever had a choice between fighting in New York or DC winter versus middle of bumfuck, nowhere in a forest covered head to toe in snow, he’d choose New York and DC.

Photograph:  Will subtly shifts his eyes to the right, spotting Ethan just as he lifts his professional looking camera to click a picture of a young woman – dressed in a skin tight velvety purple gown with a slit going midway up her left thigh – with her arms hugging the neck of a bald, bespectacled man (who’s at least above the age of 55 by Will’s analysis).

I Got Your Back:  It takes him about five tries before his eyes finally catch up to his commands and slowly, but surely, blink open. Still feeling sluggish, Ethan frowns, wondering what it is that woke him up. He's still in Kashmir, he thinks, assessing his surroundings. As the rest of his senses catch up (he hates being medicated) he hears a voice he'd recognize anywhere.

Will You Hold Me Tight And Not Let Go:  A jog turns into a sprint, relief and playful banter turn into bone chilling horror and a yell of fear as Ethan spends the last vestiges of his energy running towards the only person he’d do absolutely anything in the world for.

For The Greater Good:  Ethan never knew he was capable of fidgeting. Yet, he came to realize, when it came to Will he had all sorts of habits that he wasn’t previously aware of. He nervously twisted and pulled on the lanyard of his new identity card.

Shattered Mind:  It’s too white. It’s too fucking white in here .

Empty:  It's not like the bunker was ever noisy. With only two, sometimes three people residing, sounds tended to echo and it always seemed peaceful and quiet.

Entwined:  Sam struggles to breathe as he slips in and out of consciousness. Dean, he thinks. He needs Dean. Dean can fix this. He can fix the crazy that's overwhelming Sam right now.
