This one is based on the 86' Dodge Omni GLH-S (Goes Like Hell, the S for Shelby) but instead of a hatchback an SUV, a compact SUV
Would be nice a bare bones small and sporty SUV šš½
Maybe Plymouth as a sub-brand under Chrysler for cheaper alternatives - "Plymouth Omni by Chrysler"

Guys, have you tried your GLH yet? š¤£š¤£š¤£
PMA who? @therealjacksepticeye
Work in the novels of Grace Livingston Hill
While the domestic details in GLH novels are almost always on point, letās just say the business aspects are somewhat more . . . nebulous.
Due to the lack of an authoritative biography Iām not sure if GLH
knew nothing about business
didnāt care about business
or just realized her readers werenāt here for the business
but the result is the same: total hand-waving, donāt look over here deus ex machina nonsense. And like all else GLH, I am here for it.
In Maris (1938), the hero turns down two promising job offers to go into business with the heroineās down-on-his luck father, whose assistant, apparentlyĀ āis well meaning, I guess, but his judgment is not always as good as it should be. It is really imperative that I should be in the office for the next few weeks, unless I am willing to let my business go to the wall.āĀ
Nevertheless, Lane ādoesnāt feel any great risk.ā Heās always wanted to be āin business, not just to be working for somebody else.āĀ So he offers to putĀ āa few thousandā into this failing enterprise, which "used, of course, to be good and thriving, but the Depression has knocked out the foundation from under it.āĀ
This discussion takes up 3-5 pages of text, at which pointĀ I was yelling at my Kindle, WHAT IS THE BUSINESS?!?! Spoiler alert: we never find out. Itās business! What more do you need to know?
More great moments in business can be found in Happiness Hill (1932). This book actually has quite a lot to do with work, since the heroine and hero meet at the office, which is occasionally referred to as aĀ āfirmā although there is never talk of lawyers? Jane (the heroine) addressing circulars until late at night ā an act thatĀ āputs them days ahead of the competitionā and inspires much gratitude in her employer ā is about the only detail we get about what goes on at said firm.
But perhaps the most preposterous work-related event in all of GLHās canon (which is saying something) comes before that, when Janeās down-on-his-luck father (seeing a theme here?) is offered a job by Janeās boss, thanks to the machinations of the hero, who is secretly related to the business owners and has told them Mr. Arlethās sob story (tl;dr, he lost all his money because he was too honest).
Mr. Arleth marvels that, during the interview, his interlocutors knew everything about him! Not just business-related stuff, butĀ āstories from my boyhood.ā I about died laughing wondering how in the world, in an interview, the anecdote aboutĀ āThat time we boys pretended there had been a murder and smeared red paint on the doorsill of a deserted farmhouseā came up. TOTALLY NORMAL.
Jim Reevesā 1986 Dodge Omni GLH Shelby sports a boosted 2.5-liter engine and has run in the 9s on Hot Rod Magazineās Dragweek. Watch the video here.
