【半份早餐：Higher Grounds Coffeehouse】
整整一個月沒更新，因為忙於生計和生活，也忙於看書和沉澱。當然，惰性也是一大原因。其實，倒也無所謂，因為沒心機寫的文章難看，就如沒心機煮的食物難食一樣。
上月遊走了舊金山七天，喝了二十杯咖啡，嚐了米芝蓮餐廳，也把整個城市走了一遍。然而，最愛的還是住所附近那間小小 Coffeehouse 的慵懶活潑氛圍。
第一天，步入咖啡店。
“You are new to Glen?”
(你剛搬來這裡嗎?)
“No, I am visiting my friend.”
(不，我來探朋友而已。)
“Welcome, what can I get you?”
(歡迎，你想吃甚麼?)
“I have no idea, indeed. Do you have any recommendation?”
(我還未想好，你有什麼推介嗎?)
“Everything! But I do think that you’d like Florentine Crepe.”
(所有東西！我想你會喜歡 Florentine Crepe。)
“I will have one then. Can you make it in a smaller portion?”
(那我要這個。份量可以小一點嗎？)
“I will make you half. You come tomorrow and have another half.”
(今天我弄半份給你，明天你再來吃那半份。)
10 分鐘後，老闆捧上那半份早餐。Crepe 既鬆化又紮實，加上帶鹹香茅屋芝士、微辣的洋蔥和鮮甜的菠菜，這一切完全顛覆了我的味蕾記憶。到了第二天，我如常步進咖啡店，老闆對我說：”Have a seat, the other half will be ready in 10 minutes.”
那刻，我突然明白，原來教人渴望的並不是甚麼特別的味道，而是那份不畏陌生的人情味。
