LA Girl - Glazed Lip Paint
These lip paints sell for around $3.50 each, and can be found at Rite Aid. Beyond that, I am not sure where else you can pick them up in person. It also took me a year of searching for these lipsticks at my local rite aids before they popped up.
These are an interesting combination between lipgloss and lipstick. I think that they have the opacity of a lipstick, while having the creaminess of a lipgloss. They aren’t sticky at all, and provide a very dense color that is nearly identical to the color of each tube. Each comes in a lip-gloss tube (similar to those sold at Bath and Body works) with a small, slanted applicator with a hole at the top that the product is squeezed through. In theory, you could apply these straight from the tube. I found that to be incredibly messy, and prefer to use a lip brush. I recommend applying a lip liner, applying a layer of this (only use a small drop at first! it goes a long way!), blotting, and then adding another thin layer. Also this transfers super easily to teeth, so be sure to do the finger trick.
As far as wear goes, these feel very smooth! Much more comfortable than lipstick. They are fairly glossy, so whatever you gain in comfort you loose in longevity. These will not last through any sort of food, and they fade on the inner rim of my lips after drinking. But they do look gorgeous for that first hour you have them on.
I am a lipstick person. I much prefer lipstick over a lipgloss, and a matte finish over a shiny one. These are fun if you’re looking to change things up a bit, or if you don’t mind a high maintenance lipstick/lipgloss. I bough 3 different shades before trying them out, but likely won’t buy any more.
Here is my final rating on the lipsticks, and below is a mini review of each individual lipstick color in this line that I have.
1) 783 - Blushing: a very interesting and gorgeous mauve color
2) 784 - Bombshell: Bright pink, and much brighter than the tube color.
3) 785 - Pin-Up: Classy bright red color, leans blue.
