Some glazes can create beautiful effects when mixed!
It's hard to get good photos of it, unfortunately. It's like oil paint - better in real life.
Some NICE photos of some of my better jars UwU
The blue one is Purple Haze (recipe can be found online or just DM me ig) glaze over blue and purple underglaze. I wanted to prove to my teacher that underglaze WOULD affect whatever was placed on top of it and I was soooo correct. Feel free to steal my technique because it looks excellent. Plan on seeing how exact I can get it, since the place where the underglaze changed color is so clear here.
The red jar is just Cranberry. Idk where all that white came from, lol. It….. didn’t do that last time
some glaze experiments! I’ll post the final result when they’re out of the kiln 😁
This was my first time spot-glazing blossoms and highlighting the petals with pink and glossy white. The middle of the blossoms was dabbed in white first, and the pink was added second. The inside is a SUPER DUPER TEMPERAMENTAL yellow melon glaze that comes out looking dreadful half of the time.
Considering all that could have gone wrong at the glaze stage (bubbling, crawling, running) this cup is very very lucky and a great result.
^.^; this cup has long been sold, but I will be at Setsucon this weekend (1/24 & 1/25) with many other gorgeous cups. If you live central PA / State College area, come check them out in the artist alley at Penn Stater Conference Center.
