Finnick let out a laugh as he walked up the bar to refresh himself with another cocktail. “What a shame.” He commented glancing to the Mentor next to him with a smirk. One of the tributes from District Two had finally met their demise in the arena and Finnick could do nothing but mock. “I’m starting to think that the training going on in Two isn’t like what it used to be.”

Ever since dying in the arena, Clove had often wished she was really dead. Waking up in the laboratory's cold room had sealed her fate in a much more horrifying way. A warrior's death, that was what she had been promised. But even that, they had ripped it from her. She was a rabid animal, now. Howling, biting, angry.

And yet, as she stood in front of Cato, all she could feel was hope. It was a stupid feeling, really. He wasn't here to save her, she knew that. He was here because she was his weakness.

undoubtedly there is understanding regarding where his claim hailed from. from the outside , she was deemed untouchable. hailed pet of the president himself. protected from the public , seemingly immune to the district's distastes in her continued existence. but the side the world was blinded to was one much darker in it's feats. reality was safe was not something she was , not in the slightest. a singular misstep in the eyes of snow lead to punishments she herself , no matter how highly she carried herself , sent an overwhelming fear through her. so when heeding cato's words , listening as he donned of her seemingly guaranteed safety made her body ache beneath her manicured skin.

I hope you suffer and get sad, because I think only in that way you’ll know that it has to get ugly before it gets pretty. I hope you live a long happy life, filled with joyful moments, full of love and pain, tears and smiles, change and experiences. I hope that in time you understand that you need both rain and sun to grow a beautiful flower that’ll smile until the end of time. I hope you get happy. I hope you live.”
