Being a part of community is NOT required to practice kynk. Community kinksters are only a small percentage of the kiky pie. It may not seem like it tho because it's community kinksters who get the most representation. While community has it benefits, it's not a good fit for everyone & that's valid. I do talk about community a lot tho. Why? Because community influences the subculture and that trickles down to what non-community quinksters see & learn online. Community is largely responsible for positive trends in education AND dangerous misinformation too. It's important for everyone to know how community influences education to better vet & evaluate online and offline educational resources. Also to evaluate if/why some "best practices" are actually illogical/dangerous "one twue wayisms" in disguise. I talk about it in this clip (Note, I'm using "community" in the broadest sense of the word & including online spaces/social media. Some debate wether that counts as "community." Others believe we don't actually have a collective kynk community at all. That's a debate for another day!). Also, if you're interested in the influence of community on the kynk subculture, please fill out my community survey (share it too!). More deets in my prior post & you can find the survey in my profile. Thanks! ********* Reposted from @givenconsent What if you want to keep your kink private?
