What do you want for your birthday?
I've gotten a few "what do you want"s lately. Theres nothing I really want, nothing I could goto a store and point at and think "I really want/need that", theres just not and thats ok. But it was asked of me if you could ask for anything of or from a particular person, what would it be. And there was an answer to that. But, here's the caveat: what I want to be done isn't something I can ask for & there are a couple reasons why. First, its the type of thing you just do not ask for, at least not imho. It crosses the line of not ok in my mind. Secondly, & most importantly, it means nothing if I have to ask for it. Its a gesture that would mean so much if it were to happen. It must, however, happen on that person's own accord. I don't want to ask, I don't even want to be told. I just want to casually glance down/over one day and realize "Oh my goodness! Thats not what was there this whole time, its been changed!" And I'm not even looking for a specific change, I mean- yeah there is 1 in particular that would be incredible, but any change would make me feel better. But it can't be asked for. It'd be like asking someone who is looking left to look right for you. They may do it, they may not like that you asked, but they may look right. But it wouldn't be because that's where they wanted to look. You can't ask please don't see what you want to see; see me, see what I want, see anything but whats on the left... Thats not ok. You just have to hope they decide that they, too, want to look right. And thats why I can say there is nothing I want to ask for. I don't get how that answer exasperates so many people-
