Some tips
I made jam for the first time! Being the last full day together before my daughter started nursery school, we went on a 7 mile walk and collected hundreds of blackberries, elderberries & a handful of raspberries & 3 pears!
I made a crumble but when boiling the fruit I added a tad too much water, and by a tad I mean I drained about a pint before putting the fruit in the dish. It seemed a waste to not use the drained liquid so I let it cool overnight, strained it then added Vege-Gel powder not knowing what the outcome would be. I brought the fruit liquid gel mix to the the boil then let it set overnight, and there we have it, mixed fruit jam! Tasty on toast 😋
