@girlfallsā asked:Ā āeternal peace is probably overrated.ā
sometimesĀ deathĀ feelsĀ moreĀ likeĀ aĀ memory, an old friend whom ruby greeted occasionally, like coming back to your hometown after college and bumping into a former friend. itās casual, itās quick and either your skin crawls or you feel a sense of ease. itās hard to explain it, but peace in any tangible way seems plastic and fake. the ease that drifts over everette like a blanket of fog is not peace at all, itās a hunting ground, with hunters watching as prey run about oblivious to the undeniable truth of the situation: their time is coming with impeccable speed.Ā
sheās never really thought about the after, too busy trying to figure out how to survive the now.
āĀ eternityĀ isĀ suchĀ aĀ stupidĀ concept,Ā āĀ ruby doesnāt mean for the words to come out as roughly as they do, but her own dismay is palpable. she takes a long swig of her cherry slushie to silence herself while she thinks. her words have to be purposeful here, sure, saying something like thatās okay but... she feels wrong for saying it. like itās not her statement to say.Ā āĀ iĀ mean,Ā itāsĀ niceĀ inĀ theory,Ā butĀ likeĀ allĀ things...Ā itādĀ probablyĀ getĀ boring.Ā ā
