The Wrecking Coast is giving up her secrets. I have wanted a bottle of this gin from @wreckingcoastdistillery for ages and my first taste as not what i was expecting, not to say that was a bad thing, definitely not, i love being surprised. Firstly it is like velvet to drink neat, so smooth and creamy. Secondly it is like no other gin and that means a unique g'n't! I have paired it with @fevertree_uk elderflower tonic, fresh sliced strawberries, a slice of limequat (yeah ive never heard of them either but there they were) and a small sprig of basil. The flavour is slightly vodka'ry, it is a real full bodied drink which suggests stormy seas and jagged rocks. It stands up to robust flavours like the elderflower tonic, strawberries and lime, i think a bit of black or cubeb pepper would be delish too. It needs full fat, full flavour tonics and i think it will carry punchy herbs too. I think i am going to keep coming back to this gin and discover new ways to serve it so watch this space.
