The #Detroit area native founded his seminal band #thestooges in the late #60s and put out 3 albums of proto #punk #rocknroll that sounded like nothing else at the time. His kamikaze approach to performance plus a heavy drug habit nearly killed him but with the help of #davidbowie (who had a similar problem) he revived his career and has been revered as the #godfatherofpunk since the late #70s. 『ギミー・デンジャー』
ロック界のカリスマ〈ゴッドファーザー・オブ・パンク〉イギー・ポップ。そして、映画界の鬼才ジム・ジャームッシュ。
イギーが率いたバンド、ザ・ストゥージズの熱烈なファンであり続けるジャームッシュはイギーを役者として起用するなど、二人は親交を深めてきた。そして今まで映像で語られたことのなかった伝説のバンド、ザ・ストゥージズの軌跡を綴るドキュメンタリーが完成した。
イギーを中心に1967年に結成され、74年のライブを最後に自然消滅したバンド「ザ・ストゥージズ」。
パンクムーブメント以降、その評価は高まり、2010年にはロックの殿堂入りを果たした。
本作ではイギーを軸としたメンバーと本当に近しい関係者にのみ取材を敢行。当事者だから語ることができるストゥージズの真実が、新たに発見された映像や写真などとともに語られていく。
