â the risk i took was calculated. but clearly i am bad at math. â
Working on a college campus really was endlessly amusing in a variety of ways, Keiji had responded to some pretty unusual calls when he was a detective, but there were only so many ways someone could break into a store to get at the cash register, but the mixture of young adulthood and poor decisions present in a place like the school dorms made unusual situations each and every night. Here he was somewhat sleepily manning the front desk this night before an RA could come, taking a moment to glance over at the hallway cameras and doing a slight double take when what looked like suds were bubbling out from the laundry room. At first, Keiji figured it might just be his eyes messing with him â he wasnât the pinnacle of good sleeping habits, after all â but watching a certain student walk over to the laundry room with a basket and soon drop the same basket with a surprised yelp meant that this was all in good reality.Â
Luckily, it was just the washing machine that happened to be closest to the door so the mass of bubbles wasnât quite as big as it could have been (still enough for Keiji to radio over custodial to take care of this mess) and now he was just watching the other somewhat begrudgingly feel around for his card to rinse off the rest of the suds, grumpily answering him on why he added so much laundry detergent to the machine to begin with.Â
âHereâs a little tip from your friendly campus policeman,â Keiji responded with a slight grin, all while handing over enough bills for the student to run the machine again. âFabric softenerâll calm some of those suds down if theyâre gettinâ to a rowdy level. âCourse, you should probably half what you were putting in the machine first, wahaha.âÂ
