For @passionforperwaine hope it’s what you want 😊😊❤️🦋
Remember that I'll always
Gwaine was fed up with this. His feelings were true. However, feelings such as this was frowned upon and not allowed in Camelot.
He realized his feelings for a friend and fellow knight, he was in a panic. He loved anyone based off of who they were.
Sir Percival was a calm man, relaxed with almost anything happening around him. He was strong and fierce, with a wonderful sense a humor. He was always caring, his kind attitude didn’t go unnoticed towards Gwaine.
The day he realized his feelings, he was walking with Merlin. Arthur had sent him to polish his Armor and Gwaine was in his way to the Armory.
“Does your sword need to be sharpened?” Merlin asked as he carried the kings armor and sword.
“It does, but I can sharpen it” Gwaine smiled as he walked with him “I haven’t been able to talk with you for a bit, Arthur’s been keeping you real busy” he could’ve sworn Merlin’s cheeks flushed with a shade of pink.
“You know how Arth-“ He was cut off when he walked right into someone, dropping everything he was carrying “Oh no! I’m sorry!”
“It’s okay, I’m the one who should be sorry Merlin” Percival knelt down and picked up the armor while Merlin grabbed the sword and inspected it.
“I didn’t even see you” Merlin went to grabvthe armor from Percival, but he move it away.
“I wasn’t paying attention, here let me make up for it by carrying this for you.” Percival smiled, all of Arthur’s knights, except for a select few, were friends with Merlin, even protective of him. Arthur would be lost without his manservant
“How noble of you Percival” Gwaine cut in with a smirk “You could consider yourself lucky there Merlin, not many knights would do such a thing”
“I’m not many knights there Gwaine” Percival flashed him a smile.
Merlin looked between the two and shook his head. He knew Gwaine, and exactly what the man was starting to feel, he knew the moment they met.
“Right” Gwaine spoke softly to himself, starring fondly at the tall man walking ahead of him.
Remember that I'll always
He needed to tell the man how he was feeling. How would he feel? Would he be angry? What if he tried to kill him? His ‘kind’ wasn’t really accepted in Camelot. Or so it would seem.
He then got an idea,he’ll write to him. By the time he sees it Gwaine would be gone, since he did offer to go with Merlin to Ealdor to visit his mother, to make sure he travelled safely. By the time he would return, he will be prepared for the worst.
And so he wrote the letter, giving it to a servant to give to him after he left. This could possibly be the worst mistake he could make or the best idea he’s had.
And so off he went with Merlin, hoping that no matter what happens he won’t lose his head.
Treasure these few words 'till we're together
Leon read the letter that was under his door when he woke. It had Percivals name on it, but being the man he was, was it a death threat?
His face instantly went pale as he read this. He had invaded the privacy between two knights and he didn’t know what to do. Gwaine has grown feelings for the man. Gwaine knew where his room was so why was it put under his door?
He marched to Percivals room with a beat red face and shoved the paper in his hands.
“This was meant for you, it was under my door by mistake.” Leon turned away and walked away before Percival could question him or say anything.
“What?” Percival raises an eyebrow and looked at the letter. He recognized the writing and he felt butterflies, he felt like a giddy girl to receive a letter from Gwaine, but he didn’t care.
He read the letter and nearly fainted. So it seems he did feel the same. Not that Percival expressed his feelings in anyway, he was good at hiding it.
He looked down the hall where Leon disappeared into. Had he read this? If so, why hasn’t he reported it to the king or made any fuss about it?
Gwaine should be back in two days, hopefully nothing happens during those days or his return.
Gwaine followed behind Merlin on his horse, feeling nervous.
“You’ve got nothing to worry about, Percival is a good man, even if he didn’t feel the same, he wouldn’t report that to the king. And I don’t think Arthur would punish you for who you love, you seen how he stood up to his father and his uncle when he and Gwen were together. He’s not gonna kill you because of who you love.” Merlin tried to reassure his friend.
“But he can banish me from the kingdom, Percival won’t want to speak to me ever again.” Gwaine huffed out, regretting writing this letter.
When the two arrived back at Camelot, they were greeted by Percival and Leon, the rest of the knights were on patrol.
“Sir Gwaine,” Leon felt his face heat up a bit, “Merlin, Arthur requests you go see him.”
“Already?” Merlin shook his head and left with Leon not far behind him.
“So,” Percival spoke after the two left, “Leon gave me a letter, that was mistakenly placed in his room, and it’s quite interesting.”
“What?” Gwaine wanted to punch himself, the servant didn’t know where his room was? Leon knows now. Who else does.
“Leon said he’d keep it to himself.” Percival turned his head slightly and studied Gwaine’s features.
“Look Percival, it was stupid an-“
“I feel the same,” Percival stood a little closer than a friend would.
“You do?” Gwaine nearly passed out. His eyes widened.
“Since the moment I laid eyes on you, but you were so oblivious.” He grinned, leaning in to kiss his cheek.
“Wait if they see, the king will punish us.” Gwaine stepped back, wishing he hadn’t.
“Why would King Arthur punish us if he’s doing the same with Merlin?” Percival raises an eyebrow, knowing he surprised Gwaine.
“So that’s why Merlin insisted everything would be fine.” Gwaine shook his head and laughed. “So him and Arthur-“
“Yeah I went to him because I worried Leon told him and he told me he and Merlin were together. He’s trying to convince the council to allow the law change.” Percival pulled Gwaine towards him.
Gwaine laughed and pulled him in for a kiss, full of need. He was longing for this and apparently so was Percival.
“Well I guess until then, we will have to keep this quiet until it’s allowed.” Gwaine gave his signature smile.
