"Of course I'm here. Where else would I be?" 1k, xanlow from this ask game
“Laslow?”
Xander is sitting atop his horse, taking a short trip around the riding grounds. He couldn’t stand the sight of his chambers anymore, of an empty bed and an unfilled silence. He took to his horse, not for comfort or relief, but only to make himself move forward.
I haven't had the spoons to leave a proper comment on the newest installation of your merbert story yet but I just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing all of it! I've really really enjoyed it and I especially love all of the world building you've done in it!
Aaaaaaah thank you!!!! I love love love world building for aus and this one ended up being such an interesting world to build!!! I get to explore Duscur and I get to explore mermaid culture and I get to explore how those things intersect in such a fun way!!!
I’m so glad you’re still enjoying it <3
Shamir and Manuela and "grabbing the other’s hand to pull them back from something" for MerMay? (If it's too unhinged of a rarepair feel free to disregard!)
No such thing as too unhinged, my good friend!

"... and after all that, he had the nerve to tell me I was 'easy on the eyes but a pain on the ears'! Can you imagine? Me? The Siren of the South Seas, the star of the Musselfrank Opera, a pain on the ears?! He swam away after that and I'll be damned if I'm going to be the one to contact him first." Manuela punctuated this declaration with an agitated flick of her tail.
The exploits of Manuela's failed dates never interested Shamir. It was only a baseline level of professionalism that stopped Shamir putting her fingers in her ears. As it was, Shamir swam expressionless alongside Manuela, trying to keep her mind on the task at hand.
Seteth had assigned them the mission of dismantling a bunch of nets humans had left behind in the Cove of Serios' hunting grounds. Normally such a thing wouldn't take two merfolk-- especially one like Shamir who was more used to doing the hunting herself-- but the increase in human activity lately had put the Cove on edge. Seteth had told Shamir that she was to keep Manuela safe. Making this, effectively, babysitting.
Except Shamir was beginning to think that a child would have more interesting stories.

"When One Person’s Face Is Scrunched Up, And The Other One Kisses Their Lips/Nose/Forehead" for Petra/Bernadetta for the Black Eagles requests?
This prompt always inspires the cutest mental images. Hope you like what I did!

72. When One Person’s Face Is Scrunched Up, And The Other One Kisses Their Lips/Nose/Forehead

"Which war was the catalyst to the founding of the Leicester Alliance?"
"What is meant by the word "catalyst"?"
"Um, it's like..." Bernadetta thought for a second before looking back down at the textbook. "Let me rephrase-- which war was fought to found the Alliance?"
Petra furrowed her brow, trying to remember the lesson from yesterday. History was by far her worst subject. Bernadetta had offered to help her, which was extremely generous for someone who disliked leaving her dorm room longer than necessary, but so far Petra hadn't gained much confidence.
The two sat in silence at their library table while Petra pondered the question. She knew the war had lasted a long time, though the other details escaped her. "May I have a hint?" Petra pleaded.
"It has to do with a phase of the moon."
Petra frowned. "Why does the moon have an effect on war?"
"I-It didn't, it's just what the war was named for."
"Named for the moon? I am not remembering the war being fought during night."
"No! It was-- I guess I shouldn't just give you the answer. R-Right?" With a sigh, Bernadetta closed the book and slumped in her chair. "I'm sorry, Petra. I really though I'd be better at this."
Leaning across the table, Petra took Bernadetta's hand. "I am the sorry one. History gives me great difficulty."
"B-But that's understandable. I'm sure Brigid history would be just as hard for me."
"Maybe. But I have certainty you would not give up if you wanted to have learning-- er, if you wanted to learn it."
Bernadetta ran her thumb across Petra's knuckles. "Maybe..."
It was disheartening to see Bernadetta this way. Petra had been flattered when Bernadetta had extended her hand of help and friendship-- and here Petra was, messing things up. If Petra could speak entirely in her native language, there was no end to the reassurances she could give Bernadetta. Yet in FĂłdlani, the words often came out confusing or, even worse, reversed Petra's meaning.
Petra stood. If words couldn't help her, then maybe action would. Bernadetta squeaked when Petra suddenly moved around the table to pull Bernadetta to her feet. "We are needing a break! Will you train with me, Bernadetta?'
"Um, I mean, if you think I can help..."
"You can help very much! As thanks for your history teaching, I can teach you more about using the sword!" Bernadetta's face scrunched at the mention of the apparently dreaded melee weapon and Petra couldn't help but laugh at the expression. "You will be enjoying it, I have no doubt!" Petra kissed her nose, laughing again when Bernadetta's jaw fell open. Petra would take surprise from Bernadetta over frustration any day.
Not giving Bernadetta time to object further, Petra took her by the hand again and pulled her from the library. "W-W-Wait! We have to put away our books!" Bernadetta cried as Petra practically ran down the hall.
"We will be going back later for studying! I must be learning about the..." Petra stopped. "Oh! The Crescent Moon War!"
Bernadetta's eyes widened and she broke into a smile. "That's right! You got it!"
Practically bouncing, Petra resumed her race towards the stairs. "Now it is being my turn to do the teacher for Bernie!" Bernadetta groaned behind her but that did nothing to dampen Petra's glee. In fact, with Bernadetta's hand tight in her grip, Petra felt a surge of optimism for the training and studying ahead.
(Another one from me because I also really love Awakening. Feel free to ignore it if you've gotten too many of these or just aren't feeling it!)
Who's your favorite of the second generation characters?
PLEASE keep asking Awakening questions, I always up for talking about my fave FE game.
Lucina, effortlessly. But aside from her--
Inigo! I like his recruitment chapter and character design, as well as his supports with his mother, Olivia. A lot of his supports with the second gen guys are great too. You get so many sides of his personality-- his flirting, how much he cares for his friends, how he's as shy as his mother. PLUS!!! He wants to be a dancer in Awakening and then Heroes gave him his dream!! We love to see it!
In my most recent game, I actually made my Robin have blue hair and married Olivia-- so Inigo was my blue haired son and Morgan was our pink haired daughter. Cotton candy family XD
Special shout out to Gerome though. I always forget how interesting he is (his recruitment chapter is suuuper annoying so that's usually the first thing I remember about him) until I have him and start using him. He's a solid fighter and his supports do a good job of selling his loner-with-a-heart attitude.
Rarepair prompt: bandaging the other’s hand and not quite letting go for Marianne/Leonie or Leonie/Bernadetta
I love me some Leomari but I haven’t written Leonie/Bernadetta before so! Here goes!

Bernadetta doesn't give herself time to think too hard about what she's doing. She grabs the first aid box from her room and walks with a purpose down to the next level of dorms. Stopping before a certain door, Bernadetta takes in a deep breath, and knocks. The door opens to reveal a justifiably confused Leonie. "Hey," Leonie greets, turning her slack jaw into a welcoming smile that Bernadetta sees right through. "This is a surprise. Need something, Bernadetta?" Bernadetta holds out the kit. "I want to fix your hand," she blurts out. Leonie crosses her arms, hiding both hands from view. "What hand? I'm fine." "I-I saw you, Leonie. I can help you. Or, I can fix more of your clothes, if you want. I just don't think you should be alone right now." Bernadetta steps forward, ready to bolt into the room if Leonie tries to shut the door. Leonie stares for a moment before shaking her head, her smile growing dull. "Let's... start with my hand. It does kinda hurt."
