“My death was pretty boring actually.”

“Do you want to hear all about how I died?”

“I miss being able to feel things.”

“Nights are long and boring when everyone is asleep.”

like even as a plot point like you could get your starter and then the evil team would attack you in the next town and your pokemon would protect you to the death

so then the professor tells you it's buried in like the 3rd gym town and so when you get there you go into the cemetery tower and find your starter's grave

and then your starter comes out of the grave as a ghost
