@basic-cable had a few suggestions for us on the last ask about ghosts, but the post wouldn’t let me update it, so it’s perfect that you requested this lol

Peter as ghost:

He’s been getting information from Rhodey about the stray new hero here and there, and there’s one Rhodey brought to him the other day that Tony has to follow up on, that 240p YouTube video the two of them watched together. What the hell was the name? He stood out, and if Tony was more clear-headed, he’d remember.  He’s searching for the information on a Thursday evening, and that’s when he gets the e-mail about the bed and breakfast. A bed and breakfast that sits on a plot of land that Obie was fighting to take from the owners thirty or so years back, and now, thirty or so years later, the new owners are contacting Tony to sell. Want to move on, the place is past its prime anyway. And maybe ‘slightly haunted’. “Slightly haunted,” Tony says, the next day, sitting across the table from Happy at the cafe in the tower. He takes a bite of his scone and tries to hide his keen interest.

From filling the search engine with "exorcism priests near me" to "Ghost Adventures phone number", Peter is on Google until his eyes grow heavy. And for the most part, Tony doesn’t say anything. He watches each Wikipedia article dive, wondering if Peter can feel his presence each time Tony sticks a hand through his head. Peter’s subtle reactions are worth the trial and error of not making physical contact. While the kid worries about ghosts, Tony worries about accidentally getting his hand stuck in Peter’s skull. Peter is on edge until morning. When Tony speaks, the kid scratches at his neck, and whenever Tony tries to make contact, Peter stiffens. There’s something there for him, something that tells Peter it’s much more than his natural senses. And, while Tony doesn’t mean to frighten the poor kid, he’s thrilled. He no longer feels as alone. Those small moments of uncertainty are all that fill his days now. He’s not living—he’s barely existing. But he’s here with Peter, and there has to be something more. or  Tony is definitely not a part of the Haunted Mansion's 999 happy haunts. He is, in fact, not that happy. And Peter doesn't know a damn thing.

•tony notices one night that his lights are flickering

•his tech is messing up but j.a.r.v.i.s lets him know nothings wrong

•and of course he couldn’t have programmed anything that DOESN’T work that’s not like him at all nope no way is it his fault

•then he sees a figure in the corner of his eye walk past him

•“if anybody’s there, i’m gonna give you about 10 seconds to reveal yourself or else i’ll start blasting away”

•a boy with bambi eyes and somewhat of a transparent body shows up in front of him, grinning ear to ear

•“who are you??”

•“i’m peter, but im not really anybody anymore”

•tony’s annoyed because of COURSE it’d be him who has a fucking spirit up his ass

•and peter’s always pulling shit like hiding tony’s tools, turning the lights off, messing up tony’s coding when he isn’t looking

•the boy’s amused and entertaining himself all the time

•he doesn’t show himself too often, but when he does tony has a hard time grasping the thought that somebody as gorgeous as peter would be…dead, and not exactly unhappy about it either

•tony searches up the kid’s name, finds out he died in a plane crash with his parents

•“are you seeking revenge out on me or something?? wtf is this supposed to be dude??”

•“not at all!!! you’re just so easy to aggravate. besides, i have nothing better to do and you’re encouraging me”

•“how am i encouraging you??? i want you out of here.”

•no he doesn’t

•“no, you don’t.”

•“well, what can i do to get you to leave?”

•“nothing, sir. i like it here. you talk to me, you pay attention to me.”

•“then i’ll just stop giving you the attention you apparently crave.”

•yeah, turns out that’s a horrible idea considering the next day he walks into the lab and finds it completely destroyed, something is making one of his suits move on their own, and it takes him a few minutes to comprehend that peter is inside it

•“god, you’re a brat. get out of that thing before you hurt someone.”

•the suit opens up and peter proudly walks out of it with a sigh

•“how the hell are you able to do all this? if ghosts were always this destructive, you’d think there would be more sightings”

•“i had a lot of energy when i was alive. oh, and i was spider-man. sort of brought those things with me to the afterlife.”

•tony thinks he’s kidding but he once again does his research and spider-man randomly disappeared after the same night peter died

•peter starts helping him with ideas concerning nanotech

•the boy is a borderline genius, and that’s saying something coming from tony

•although he’s a little shit he is also very polite, and reminds tony to eat and drink water throughout the day

•“why am i the only person able to see you?”

•“you’re the only person who i want to see me.”

•tony starts noticing how peter’s eyes twinkle when he’s excited

•he starts getting him things to do, including a few books peter never got to read before he died

•peter never holds any resentment over what happened to him

•it brings tony a sense of relief that once he dies, there’s a chance he could still be with peter with zero regrets

•but peter never acknowledges the possibility of them being together, or doesn’t want to

•“you should just go with the flow of things, mr. stark. stop worrying about what happens when you’re gone, you have to live in the moment. enjoy life. i’m speaking from experience.”

•but tony doesn’t understand why it has to be like that, since ever since he’s started communicating with peter he’s been between life and death itself.

Tony encounters a lonely spirit trapped in the shadows of an overgrown conservatory.

There was a house in the middle of the woods. It was an old thing, with vines crawling up and over its walls and its arches, nestled between the tall, gloomy pines. It was entirely out of place, and yet looked like it could not have possibly belonged anywhere else. It was abandoned and had been abandoned for a long time - so said the nearby townsfolk who knew of it as a local legend - and saw as little sunlight as it did travellers. Peter knew of this house because it was where he lived, insomuch as ghosts lived anywhere at all.
