Okay, now that I’m only mostly dead, let me tell you how un-fucking-believable Pride was!!
First, we went to Pridefest and got fancy grilled cheese sandwiches (always a good start to the day), and then headed down to the parade, where we stood for 7 HOURS and had the most amazing time!
The parade was by far the best part, looking at all the outfits and dancing along to the music, and countless people complimented us on our flower crowns, one guy even taking his sunglasses off his head and throwing them to me after shouting he “loved the flowers”. We also got a fair few hugs (a shirtless Trojan and shirted Steven Universe among them), and a couple men came over to compliment/play with my hair, one of them even dropping a bristly kiss to my cheek, which was almost as good a gay blessing as the Pride Dog hanging out across the street from us. I also got a ton of compliments on my “Accio Equality” shirt, someone even running over from the Gay Geeks of New York group to hand me a bracelet, which was up there for highlight of the day. Although our picture did also end up on the Smirnoff truck, soooo...
All in all, the day ended with sushi, a purse full of condoms, and very sore feet, but not without the satisfaction of a Pride well done!!
