So, I don’t think I’ve ever shared this in the Fabler community before, but before discovering GGF I was vaguely dreaming about making a AoGG adaptation (called Anne of the Internet) having loved the LBD and also being obsessed with the book series. I didn’t have the means to make it (i.e. actors with red hair) but I did muddle out the scripts for a few episodes before discovering there was already an actual adaptation (what an exciting day that was!). I thought that Prom Day would be as good a time as any to share my silly little spiel I’d have Anne say in the first vlog. It’s actually funny the overlap between mine and the real one (the name of the first ep. was actually going to be ‘Anne with an E’!)

Episode One: Anne With An ‘E’  (At ‘Asylum’ – State Care)

Anne: Hello. My name is… *pauses* …Cordelia Fitzgerald. Oh, wait. It already says on my channel that my name’s Anne, doesn’t it? OK, well. My name is Anne Shirley. Anne with an ‘e’. Shirley with a… ‘y’…? And this is my vlog!

(Opening.) Just to explain, my name is actually Anne, it’s just that I love the name Cordelia and I wish it was my name. So feel free to call me Cordelia! So, why do I have a vlog? Firstly, I love talking. Secondly, I have daydreams flocked in my mind in thousands and I need to do something with them, so this seemed like a way of voicing my imagination. . I mean, people don’t judge on the internet, right? Oh. Trolls. Right. And finally, I am celebrating an epoch in my life and I feel like commemorating  it by starting a vlog.

OK, to explain my celebration. Well. I’m an orphan. *looks horrified* That’s not what I’m celebrating.  I just need to explain things first. So, I’m an orphan. OK, well, I know lots of people at this point feel sorry for me and I appreciate their sympathy but it’s OK. I don’t remember my parents and although I obviously wish they were alive, I can’t miss them, so you know. I know that their names were Bertha and Walter Shirley. They’re such romantic names, right? So pretty. Umm, I don’t know much about them, how they passed away. I like to think it was something romantic like from a story book. Mostly I hope they were in love and were thinking a bit of me when it happened. Anyway. I went into foster care, a Mrs Hammond for most of my life. Can you imagine? I lived with her for years and I don’t even know her freaking first name. She had like fifty sets of twins. I’m not even kidding. You do the multiplication. Anyway, Mrs Hammond, being the brilliant mother she was, let me bring up her children. I mean, like, “Should I care for my children, or should the strange orphan redhead child I know nothing about? Yep, let’s go with the redhead child.” You know, that’s the normal conclusion to draw. So anyway… someone found out that I was more of a babysitter than anything else in the Hammond household so I was taken away. Where? Into state care which is nearly worse than being a teenage mum to billions of kids. Seriously, they give us porridge for breakfast. Porridge is the most unromantic food ever invented. So now for the exciting part: after having spent a dreary seven months in state care, I am being adopted out to a new family! OK, yeah, so hopefully it’ll be more successful than last time, but I have a good presentiment about this. The foster people are brother and sister, Matthew and Marilla. (Guess their parents liked the letter ‘M’.) And they live in a town called ‘Avonlea’ which just rings of a green spring, doesn’t it? Ooh, ooh, and their house has a name! Green Gables. I looked up what a gable is and it’s like a roof… corner… (makes an angle with arm) OK, maybe I should Google that again.   So anyway, I am leaving tomorrow! Unfortunately I have to go in these rather shabby garments… I would love to greet my future wearing something special, but I can imagine that my jeans and t-shirt are actually a ghostly-green dress and a cascade of emeralds at my neck. Anyway, so I’m to catch a plane with a person from the adoption agency and a few other kids and then from there I have to catch the train by myself to Avonlea where…

…where Matthew and Marilla will be waiting for me.

Yeah... “Now departing for your new life, stopping at all stations. Last stop, a couple of complete strangers who are going to be your new family who are going to take you to your new home!” No pressure or anything. I’m just hoping not to hyperventilate on the train.

So, I’d better shut up now. I do talk a lot but if you knew how much I wanted to say but didn’t, you’d give me a lot of credit. I just hope that Marilla and Matthew will allow my chatter. OK, shutting up… shutting up…
