For all of you who’ve read Anne of the Island, I think you guys know what these texts are going to be about. I just want to let you know that each paragraph is a different text:

Hey Gil, ARE YOU OK? I heard what happened.

Listen, I’ve been debating about telling you, but my boyfriend made me realize I’d regret it if I didn’t. So, I thought you might want to know this:

Anne is NOT going to marry Roy.

I don’t know or understand her own mind, but she told me afterwards that she wants someone who has meaning and history in her life. I think she means you.

World, are you ready to hear myself playing piano???

Seriously, I had lessons a LOT of time ago, so I had to practice a lot to play this. I know it has a lot of little mistakes, but it’s very amateur, ok?

Hello kindred spirits both old and new,

The fervour for the GGF Gala is reaching new highs! As such, we thought we’d add another event.  Reminder: You can participate in any and all events as many times as you would like. The internet slam was championed by melanypataki. So grateful for our wonderful volunteers! If you’re uncomfortable with the photo contests, this may be the perfect fit for you! 

What is the Internet slam?

The internet slam is best understood as a creative celebration of L.M. Montgomery’s works. Express your love for Avonlea, and all its residents, via the arts.

For example:

You could write an elegy to a lost amethyst brooch. 

You could imagine how Phil Gordon’s letter to Gilbert Blythe might have read, and write your interpretation of the events.

You could act out how you think Gilbert’s “promposal” might have gone down. 

You could paint a watercolour of what you think Echo Lodge looks like.

Take a leaf out of Paul Irving’s book; make your own rock people.

Do you know a piece of music that reminds you of Matthew? Or a certain scene from GGF/AoGG? Play it for us!
