The Godzilla Corner
Godzilla vs Gezora By igunuk
Gezora kaiju species profile. :D
Well I decided to do another MH Kaiju design, featuring another underrated kaiju Gezora. Wanted to for a unique design that would fit but make it stand out from other cephalopods from Monster Hunter. The reason for its legs can be explained more below
Gezora
"A chimeric and highly adaptable species has been reported in the Scarlet Forest. It was at first mistaken for a leviathan, however upon closer investigation, it's a cephalopod. It would be assumed its fins and tentacles are used to mimic a leviathan".
Background:
First encounter with Gezora was a bizarre experience, an investigation was led when mysterious hunters joined us. As the surge of new monsters appeared, assumptions of something causing this needed to be looked into. Upon reaching an area, we saw a silhouette of a mysterious monster, which we presumed to be a new Leviathan species.
However upon tracking it to a nearby river where it hunted some Piragill, then upon closer inspection, we were deceived. It wasn’t a new species of leviathan, but a new and unique cephalopod species! However the emergence of it caused quite a disturbance, so a task was conducted to capture and study it, quite a fascinating specimen.
Behavior/Ecology:
Based on the encounter and the deception of its appearance, we can assume it uses its body in two ways to mimic a leviathan. Using its front tentacles to form a fake neck and head, while its largest tentacles form the fake head, this method is used for hunting on land. From its fins on its back, it may be assumed that it used its backside to intimidate monsters, mimicking a monster with a large head
The same could be said using its fake neck and head to intimidate as well.
With seeing it walk on land, and being a cephalopod, it's semi-aquatic, however this brings questions on how it would traverse when migrating at best. It may walk on land when areas it needs to reach aren’t accessible by water traversal and vice versa in water. Probably where the tentacles and fins help aid when it hunts on either land or water.
Biology/Abilities:
What's fascinating about it is its body structure, very chimeric in nature despite being the same species as Nu Udra and Xu Wu, but different. Assuming it evolved legs to better traverse on land, but also aid in its deception as a fake leviathan. Which is where the patterns on its large tentacles and fins represent the head of a monster.
For other assumptions, it's possibly warm-blooded due to its evolution; its legs, while not big, are strong enough to hold its weight. Which allows it to run faster than other cephalopods. Its feet are padded that allow it move unheard of when hunting
When facing danger, it does use its tentacles to attack monsters or hunt them, it also uses its beak for eating and combat, which is under the four mouth tentacles, very sharp, which pierces tough skin. Speaking of which, its body is somewhat scaly but smooth, to help keep moisture in its body. Even as it evolved it still has a siphon under its body, to aid in its swim, which closes tightly when on land.
With how elongated its body is, it can store water inside itself, using its internal heat, to heat water inside its body. Spraying a focused beam of water from its mouth, while it can’t somewhat burn hunters, it does leave a mark. It can even spit a water ball that can stagger monsters or hunters, hit by them too much and it can stun.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Being semi-aquatic and using water, it is immune to water elements along with fire. Dragon, Ice, blastblight and poison barely affect it. Thunder and Paralysis are the best elements to use against it.
While its tentacles have good reach and swing hard, they can be severed. Severing any of the six arm tentacles can reduce their range, with the two largest ones being the toughest to sever. However if you manage too it can greatly limit its swings and reach.
It is fairly nimble due to its legs, sometimes using water to aid in its movement. Breaking the legs and fins can help reduce its mobility along with its back.
With its head being able to spray concentrated water and water balls, it is important to break it. Breaking its head can weaken its water power and bite from its beak.
Other Info:
Gezora and Biollante will often get into conflict due to Biollante mistaking Gezora as a leviathan. Gezora can’t notice Biollante as it mostly hunts above trees or on the ground due to its camouflage.
Lagiacrus and Gezora do bump heads occasionally, which Gezora with facade a leviathan to intimidate it. Most interactions they leave each other be, however sometimes Lagiacrus may attack first if provoked enough.
Tempered Gezora will attack more often and have stronger breath attacks and stronger swings. They may also be willing to take on Uth Duna if it comes to it.
Almost- almost all the kaijus from the Showa era, not much left!
