TLOS Shadow Legacy - Scavon The Sorcerer

Here he is, the main villain of Shadow Legacy, remade for TLOS a second time, and I love how it all turned out. Stuck more to his original colors while adding some for variety. Did the same for his monster form but with darker colors.

Not sure what to do next after this, but I did enjoy doing each remake even if it was pain sometimes. Just gonna say, he's not an oc, hes a redesign of the sorcerer from shadow legacy.

Scavon

In old records Scavon was once a scholar who studied Dark Aether to uncover its origins. However his ambition drove him to insanity, becoming a Dark Master. He would be imprisoned years prior, but would return someday in the future.

Background

As it was stated in old records, his interest as a scholar was to uncover the origins of how Dark Aether came to be, despite cautionary warnings from those around him. His research and knowledge led him to slowly move to more personal studies, as his ambition grew into obsession. Which would eventually lead him to uncovering something forbidden for the world to see.

This obsession became his descent into darkness, leading to his fate unto becoming a Dark Master. He would soon create a staff that would hold the object he found, using it for malice and destruction. The purple dragon at that time, fought against him, despite the overwhelming power the object he held on his staff had brought.

In his final stand he would lose both his wings, and would be imprisoned by the ancients, somewhere unknown. However it he would be prophesied to return in the future, seeking revenge on the realms upon his return.

Other Info:

In history it was stated that he did work along with the Elders to help investigate the origins of Dark Aether. However majority chose not with only a few willing to cooperate in his research, however as they learned about his obsession, they remaining elders left him. In later records he would have manipulated some Elders into forcible service to further his dark ambitions.

TLOS - Shadow Knights

Here it is the last of the enemy remakes before the Sorcerer, and this took way too long to finish. Spent about a week working on them from shadow legacy, which really annoyed me but I finally got around to wrap it all up. Also a good way to do some armor design since I don't really do armor a lot in my art.

Shadow Knights

During the emergence of creatures from the Shadow Realm. An unknown race was reported riding ontop of the large shadow boars and the Leviathan's. Their reason for arriving upon the realms is unknown.

Background

When one of the witness reports mentioned some individuals riding ontop of the shadow boars, an investigation was commenced to look into them. From the investigation, they were wearing that was darker toned, with unusual protrusions on them. Similar to their weapons as well, leaving much speculation to what they could be.

They were named Shadow Knights for now, until we could conclude what they are in the future.

Anatomy

While the armor they wear makes it hard to clear out any insight to them, they do appear to be bipedal with hind legs. Horns protruding from their heads, along with spiked nubs seen on their sides and additional spikes seen on their lower legs. There could be a conclusion of the possibility of an insectoid race based on appearance sightings, the rest is speculation.

Their body color was presumed to be blue, however the hues of purple were present on their skin.

Other Info

Their culture is not yet determined or explored since getting close to them was dangerous, however some have noticed a symbol upon their armor. Assumptions presuming they are dark forces because of the Dark Aether symbol, yet one theorized another possibility that may be more believable with how they are not malicious. One that has been nearly forgotten but with one of the golem's embodying it, they may wear the symbol for Nether.

With Scion of Darkness releasing their fourth chapter I finally can show what I worked on for it. The I worked on was for Cynder flying along with Spyro's mother Icis, flying among the clouds to an island. For context in Scion of Darkness, being a TLOS fanfiction story, Icis is Spyro's Mother.

TLOS - Shadow Kraken/Brains

Finally managed to finish this things remake, which took a bit figuring its design and colors out. Sticking close to its original design while making it into a squid, as its original body was weird from shadow legacy. Maybe the hardest remake to do, but leaving one more enemy redesign to finish before I move on to the Sorcerer.

Shadow Kraken/Brains

The largest seen from the Shadow Realm, a creature of impossible existence. Its presence alone has many cautious of flying in the air, at risk of being hunted by it. Worsened to the fact its believed to be psychic as well from reports.

Background

Several witnesses have reported something gigantic that was skulking above the air among the shadow creatures. Many saying they were almost eaten or snatched from the sky by some large object. Which many of the dragons investigating the shadow phenomenon have remained on the ground due to it.

The very creature itself was beyond natural from anything reported, with uncertain belief from the reports saying it was possibly psychic as well. Many are now advised to stay low and hidden, especially for the dragons, as now the air around them near the creatures was no longer safe for now.

Ecology

From the reports of almost being snatched, it could be assumed this large creature may have hunted in the air. Snatching anything that is prey from either ground or air, possibly even water. Even when covered by the trees its best to stay out of areas that could potentially be open for it to sight prey.

Biology

From reports of its appearance, its said to have four large tentacles, with four smaller ones on its face. With a large size and large appendages from its body making it a threat to any creature in the realms smaller than it. Weirdly one of the reports mentioned seeing a red parts on head and body?

Whether or not it could be an organ possibly it leaves some to believe from the reports where its psychic power may come from. The reason for it having such power is yet to known, even when many have felt it, it still remains a mystery.

TLOS - Shadow Leviathan/Shelly

This remake I had a clear idea of what go for it, but had trouble doing the shell for a bit. Basing its design from the leviathans from TLOS but on land, and keeping the multiple limbs the leviathans have. Now leaving two more remakes left before I move on to redesigning the Sorcerer from Shadow Legacy.

Shadow Leviathan/Shelly

The only leviathan species discovered that are from the Shadow Realm. Large thagomizers from its tail with thick armored shell for protection. With a territorial and defensive attitude to fit its large size.

Background

With the amount of shadow creatures appearing, a sudden witness report of one that has arrived, that left many scholars confused and shocked. The witness reported a leviathan roaming along them, with them reporting possibly two leviathans. While leviathans have lived in the realms for many years, one living in the shadow realm sounded too unnatural, yet one does.

Leaving the thoughts of leviathans possibly living outside of the realms and beyond.

Ecology

If ecology of land Leviathans applies to the shadow leviathan than it may share similar behaviors. Witness reports have said they act territorial to any other leviathan species, defensive to any who come close to it. When outside of the Shadow Realm, they act as giant guardians of the shadow creatures, however they can be easily heard due to their large size, yet somehow are elusive when traversing.

Biology

They have a rather larger shell said from reports compared to most leviathans, and a nose horn like protrusion, with large spikes at the end of their tail. Ridges along their shell for extra defensive, with some armor plating on their limbs. Their tail could have been used for defense from the six spikes at the ends of it, acting as thagomizers from observant reports.

Other Info

Thought I'd take a break from the redesigns and do a little speculation for the new Spyro villain for the new game. Going off by the trailer they have multiple horns and spikes from the looks of it despite the angle from behind. Everything else in this is purely speculation for what he might look like, so its not 100%.

TLOS - Shadow Lampetra/Periscope

Had this thing done yesterday but struggled with the patterns for it until I managed to figure it out. Periscope was strange from its original design, but an idea of turning it into a lamprey felt fitting for how it looked. Adding spikes and arms to make it feel subterranean since it digs through the ground.

Shadow Lampetra/Periscope

Large lamprey like creatures from the realm of shadow. Seen emerging through the ground scoping around land among the shadow creatures. Great caution is advised at they are faster than they look.

Background

Dragons have reported seeing some large creatures emerging from the ground that have been said to scope the area they emerge in. All the while roaming near the shadow creatures that have appeared. However encounters from the reports have advised caution due to how they attack any that go near them or any of the shadow creatures.

Dubbed Periscope's for now, due to how they survey the area from the reports brought in.

Ecology

As the reports suggest, Periscope's seem to randomly emerge from the ground and scope the area around to look for potential danger or food. With only one or two reported around that emerge, keeping watchful eyes around anything they could see. They seem to be the most elusive, due to how rare they were spotted from witnesses.

Biology

Their appearance description is quite bizarre, some reported that they have small nubs with claws and spikes facing forward along their body. Along their body are bioluminescent lights that flow along for a short length. Concerning, reports having said these move fast for their size which with how their body looks, many assume the spikes and nubs help it dig through the ground.

Other Info

Despite their large size and reports of their movement, they are swift mostly while underground. They are somewhat fast on land but often prefer to be in the underground. Which weirdly when emerging they remain stationary until they spot something of interest then make their move.

TLOS - Shadow Mikryis/LongLegs

Third one out of seven and I was stumped trying to figure out its design. I did think of its design quickly while trying to keep what it was originally than its previous design. I would tell how its body works but I'm gonna keep it mysterious.

Shadow Mikryis/LongLegs

The smallest seen among the shadow creatures that have emerged. A strange appearance which resembling a creature with legs from its head. However a second pair of eyes were seen below, its head, which is actually its body.

Background

Unnoticed mostly among the shadow creatures, until some would daringly approach the ones that were noticeable. However they would unexpectedly run into a small creature that was half the size of a dragon. Some reported these creatures scurrying off or attacking those that got to close. Labeling these creatures as longlegs due to how abnormal they look.

Ecology

From witness reports longLegs seem to travel alongside other shadow creatures and are more numerous. Yet their small size makes them quick and elusive despite their weird body. Speaking of which, their body from what was reported, is most likely used to intimidate anything that may be larger than it.

Biology

Their abnormal bodies at first left many confused from witness reports, thinking they were just a head with legs when a second pair of eyes were reported. Which brought conclusion that these creatures bodies were shaped in the way it looks. Believing it may be an insect with such long limbs, but it still leaves many baffled by how it lives.

Its long limbs could be assumed as way for it to traverse faster but how it moves from its body has left such confusion.

Other Info

TLOS - Shadow Kapros/Tailwhack

Next one on the remake list, featuring the weird caterpillar looking pig with a tail. Felt it would be more fitting to make it burly while armored to make it feel strong. Both it and the lookout were the easiest to do so far.

Shadow Kapros/Tailwhack

A larger creature from the Shadow Realm, resembling a boar with a long tail. Heavily armored and as large or larger than an adult dragon. Seen amongst other shadow creatures, only ever in the eternal nights that come rarely.

Background

Spotted alongside the lookouts during the darkest nights, and other creatures they roam along as well. However they were acted more defensive when they caught sight of anyone or danger around. Even being aggressive towards anything that got close to them.

Yet these were not the largest seen from the Shadow Realm.

Ecology

Tailwhack's, as their name for now, seem to act as defensive guardians of the shadow creatures from witness reports. Unsure what their diet is since no reports of them feeding on anything has been heard. The nature of them all the more is left unknown, since they drive anything away that gets close.

Biology

Their name for now being Tailwhack's is due to their long and large clubbed tail. Which from reports, are capable of using them as weapons, which defies the laws of nature somewhat due to how heavy it appears. However their physical appearance which looks muscular means they might possibly be both armored and heavily muscled throughout their body.

Making them stronger than they look, especially with how large their head is.

Other Info

Rare or unconfirmed reports have said that some of the Tailwhack's were rode on by a mysterious dark figures from the same realm. Which could mean they seem serve something to those mysterious figures.

TLOS - Shadow Kampos/Lookout

There was a lot of discussion with the new Spyro villain whether or not its the Sorcerer from Shadow Legacy. While its most likely going to be a new villain it gave me an idea to remake the TLOS Shadow Legacy enemy redesigns I did before. If I recall seeing that the new game takes inspiration from shadow legacy, with how the villain was presented.

So here's the first one out of seven.

Shadow Kampos/Lookout

Bizarre semi-aquatic creatures that dwell within a realm called the Shadow Realm. Records of these walking seahorses have been rare due to their swift speed and nimble size. Shooting purple projectiles as a defense or offense.

Background

During the rarest and darkest nights of the realms where the night lasts for an entire day, creatures never before seen have been spotted in the realms. Creatures of bizarre nature come out from the shadow of Night and roam the realms. Among these is one that has been seen as the smaller ones to emerge.

Ecology

Being named Lookout's for the time being due to their only eye and being high on alert from witness reports. The reports mention the possibility of these creatures hunting in packs, the amount is unknown as they are elusive to track. From the word hunting as it was mentioned it could be assumed they are carnivorous, but what they hunt is still left to be known.

Biology

From witness reports they have been described as sea horses on two legs with a shell, a bizarre description of these mysterious creatures. Their colors described are purple or blue toned, with their singular eye being said to be different. From reports of those who approach them, they have been shot at from projectiles which they conclude these creatures spit.

What is within the projectiles being spit from is mostly unknown, but one reports having blindness for a short period while in pain.

Other Info

Lookout's have only been spotted during eternal nights, which again are where nights last an entire day for only a short couple of days.

Beyond The Veil of Darkness

Making Spyro's new look was fun to do, but now I wanted try my hands at the main villain for the new game. This was really fun to do and I love how it all turned out. Was also fun to do some more darker shading and brighter lighting fro this as well.
