He had heard it time and time again; wear something different for once, they said, you’re going to die in these clothes, they mocked. Jungkook was getting offended at first, then got used to it and started laughing it off, and in the end, he learned to simply ignore it. His choice of plain, white t-shirts and a simple pair of pants was always a good, comfortable, universal option, no matter the occasion, and nobody could do or say anything to prove him otherwise.

So when she said that, he looked at her in silence for a longer while, eyes narrowed slightly as he held an inner dialogue with his own self: is she mocking me or did I find my actual soulmate? In the end, he couldn’t bring himself to accuse her of being cruel or making fun of him in such blatant manner, and he cracked a smile, shoulders shrugging lightly. “If it was true, I think they’d create a special ward in prison for people like you, because then there’d be two of us in there, sentenced for the same thing.”

    I have no clothes. Those were the words she uttered almost every single day- but of course the large closet in her room would prove her wrong. The problem wasn’t not having clothes, it was actually not having enough of those which she wanted to wear. Many would call her spoiled or greedy (which in some ways was true) but the idol didn’t have interest in spending hundreds and hundreds on clothes which she may never wear thrice. Hence resulting in her decisions to repeating the same outfits multiple times. She didn’t see the problem with it, it’s not like she didn’t wash it right?   

It’s not my fault, he wanted to say; I’m still not good at this. Except that it’d been quite a long time since Jungkook became a recognizable idol and that excuse definitely got too outdated for his current experience, he realized.

Reaching up, he pulled the cap further down his face, letting it cast a deep shadow over it, as he continued to walk forward, his shoulders only slightly more slumped than a moment before. “Hyung, mercy. I rarely go outside without my manager or group, I’m not used to–camouflages. I thought plain clothes would be okay.” He muttered just a tad grumpily, annoyed at himself, casting a quick glance at his own attire. It was what he usually wore and he has never been one to pick bright colors or lots of accessories, so he figured it might be fine for a casual outing where he didn’t want to be recognized.

Yongguk was slightly amused. No, scratch that; he was greatly amused, side-eyeing the younger idol without much discrecy. It was no use trying to be lowe-key about it if he knew that his voice would’ve betrayed all about his actual thoughts. “It’a alright, young Padawan. I shall teach you my ways.” The male said, not quite sure if the other would get the popcultural reference, but figured that if not, it might become just another thing he should teach him about. It was refreshing, after all -- to hang out with someone that much younger, a whole another generation. Although usually uneasy, Yongguk was quite charmed by Jungkook’s talents and skills, and there was a whole lot of inner curiosity in him about the fellow idol.
