Anyone who attends even one All-Candidates event will be motivated to vote. Out of fear! The five candidates presented very little insight and only isolated glimmers of leadership (although plenty evidence of blind followship). There were some young folks in the audience, and a couple of them were confident enough to ask questions. Unfortunately the three male candidates responded to their questions (because they were young women I assume based on the men’s earlier responses) with condescension, patriarchy and dismissal. On the bright side, it was great to hear we don’t have a climate crisis, that we can solve our homelessness issues by closing the door to immigrants, and that gun violence is really just an American problem. What a relief!
