She was really trying to remain calm as she was seated on her couch, but she just couldn’t hear the words coming from the television. All she heard were yelling, joking and singing teenagers from across the apartment for nights. And while she thought tonight was going to be a quiet one, she heard the music blasting from her neighbor’s speakers already. A loud sigh left her lips when she left her apartment, knocking loudly on the door next to hers. “--Could you pretty please turn that volume down?” She was furious.

"Stop.  You have to stop...  Because I don’t have the strength to look you in the eyes and make you leave."

Connie realised how that had come out and she paused. "No, I'm sorry. That was me being an absolute arse and you didn't deserve that. In saying that... Take it as a small compliment that I didn't want you to be the one hit by a projectile..." She picked up the paperweight on her desk and looked it over. "This could do some serious damage..." Placing it back down, Connie paused and shook her head. "No, honey. Do me a favour? Go and grab me some aspirin from the first aid box and then bring that article in here. Let's have a look at it."

"Hey, who said anything about making me? I offered, so technically that puts the onus of blame for any sore back tomorrow on me entirely." Eva gave a small smile, however she realised that this was unlikely to be a battle she would win. "Only if you're sure. I mean, I promise I don't kick in my sleep or anything."

the  truth  is,  she  has  already  read  all  she  could  get  her  hands  on  before  ending  up  near  his  bedside.  anxiety  does  that  to  people,  her  mind  wandering  to  the  worst  of  places  the  moment  she  receives  the  call  from  the  very  same  ward  she  works  in.  "how  did  you  even  get  hurt  that  badly  at  work?"  it's  hard  for  her  to  maintain  her  professionalism  when  she  is  still  shaken  up  from  the  news,  and  her  tenseness  shows.  "don't  be."  she  says,  squeezing  a  smile  that  she  hopes  is  reassuring  since  she  doesn’t  blame  him  at  all.  "you  were  just  transferred  under  my  care,  by  the  way.  dr.  aryes  got  called  in  for  a  surgery."  she  announces  as  matter-of-factly  as  possible,  but  it's  not  the  best  arrangement,  as  the  person  who  arranged  it  clearly  didn't  know  about  their  past.

ivy  is  relieved  when  he  confirms  that  he  likes  the  outfit  she  has  carefully  selected  for  him.  "you'd  better  get  used  to  this  soon,  then,  because  this  won't  be  the  last  gift  you  receive  from  me."  she  has  a  habit  of  spoiling  the  people  around  her  that  she  truly  cares  about  —  it's  one  of  the  pastimes  that  brings  her  a  lot  of  joy.  "try  it  on  for  me,  won't  you?"  she  suggests  with  an  anticipating  smile  —  she  has  made  sure  that  it  would  fit,  but  it  is  best  to  double-check  in  case  any  adjustments  have  to  be  made.
