see i’ve been wondering exactly WHERE it came from because before this point, their feelings have never really been acted on and seen through (maya goes to someone she likes more and zig just broods off somewhere in the distance) but w s14 i kinda see why maya would like zig, but i had a struggle time trynna figure where the fuck zig’s feelings about maya came from??? to be fair, s15 sheds some light on the nature of zig’s feelings for maya (detailed in my post tho)

So far my list just includes Raymond Ablack (Sav), Miriam McDonald (Emma), Andrew Gillies (Mr. Kerwin), and Jordan Gavaris (SoccerStud)! I'm sure there are probably some other random Degrassi people hiding somewhere in Orphan Black too.

Of all the new kids running around, who do you think is the most Terri-like?

That's a great question. I'd definitely go with Tristan.

On the surface, when he joined the cast, he wasn't the most Hollywood looking. I really appreciated that he looked like the teenagers I remembered in the hallways of my high school. I always thought Terri was beautiful, but clearly the show planned on utilizing her as "the big girl" (eye roll).

(Of course now the actor playing Tristan is thin, blonde, and goes by a more glamorous name but oh well)

Still, I think there are a lot of similarities between the two. Tristan and Terri are/were both good friends for the most part, although they occasionally faltered. I think that's realistic, though. No one can be a perfect friend all of the time, but I do think that Tristan and Terri always wanted to be supportive of their friends.

I also think that some parallels could be drawn between Tristan and Terri when you think about how they measured their self worth. Specifically, both of them felt--for whatever reason--that they weren't worthy of being loved. They also started dating a lot later than their friends. I also think that their friends (Ashley and Maya) brushed them off because they didn't have dating experience, which must have been hurtful. I think that the mindset that no one could love them ultimately made them more vulnerable to predatory relationships: Tristan with the teacher, Terri with the abusive Rick. While abuse can happen to anyone, I think their lacking self esteem might have made them easier targets. Additionally, because they are both pretty warm, loving people they want to see the good in people, even their abusers (which has bad consequences).
