Understanding Narasimha : So who is Narasimha? Narasimha is the 4th Avatar of the Archetype Vishnu or Lord Vishnu. Vishnu is the Archetype who gives us sustained energy for life. So what does that mean? Health, Beauty, relationships, happiness, money and protection - all things that we need to sustain ourselves on the earth plane, the Archetype Vishnu is the one who gives that to us and then as this being, this Divine being he has incarnated on the earth plane several times, 11 times and on the 4th time he came in, in the form of Narasimha.

Narasimha is half man half lion, that’s literally what the name means and how did this happen. So there was this boy who was Prahlad who was very devoted to Vishnu. He would chant his name over and over and over for his very close relationship to God. But his father was a demon king who was wringing havoc and causing problems and at one point the father who was the demon king got so upset with the boy because he didn’t like that his Godly boy was chanting to Vishnu Lord all the time. He said, “Oh. If you Lord is so great, then have him come here.” But back story to this is that the demon or this king had received boon that he could not be killed during day or by night, with a weapon, by a man or an animal. So he had all these things that will make it hard to make him killed. So what happens is Prahlad calls upon Lord Vishnu and from a pillar Vishnu breaks through and he is in a form of Narasimha. He is neither man nor animal because he is half man, half lion. It is neither darkness or light, neither day or night. It is at twilight. So just after the sun has set but it’s not quite night time and definitely not day and he can’t be killed by a weapon. So what does Narasimha use but his claws to reap open the demon and destroy him and I believe there was another one where he couldn’t be indoors or outdoors. That’s why there was this platform and the pillar was there and that’s where Narasimha sprung from in order to manifest himself to form to be able to kill this demon.

So that’s how Narasimha came about. It’s a very lose story of his mythology, his mytho-therapy and ways you can connect to him is to just look at his form. There are two pictures behind me. You can look on pictures of him and meditate upon him. Use his mantra. It’s very simple. It’s his name. “Om Narasimha Namaha” and when you call the name of the being. It’s just like calling the name of your friend. They respond because they know their name. So if you don’t know the particular mantra for a being or a Goddess, angels, saints- just call their name. That’s the easiest pathway to get to them. So if you want to connect to him by looking at his form, by learning about him, you can, there are so many different stories. His consort is Lakshmi and together they bring wealth, protection, beauty into your life. So that’s also what he can do for you once you do make the connection. But if you want to make the connection at the heart level first and also be asking for his boons which is definitely protection to removing Karma, stored Karmic patterns of yourselves, on the soul level or the body and the mind. So he will be able to remove all of that. I will make another video on more ways to connect with Narasimha.
