Lulu (Louise Brooks) and Countess Geschwitz (Alice Roberts) dance together in a scene from the 1929 silent movie Die BĂźchse der Pandora (Pandoraâs Box) by Georg Wilhelm Pabst. It is adapted from Frank Wedekindâs Lulu, which also provided source material for Alban Bergâs opera of the same title.
Ohohoho so that William Kentridge co-production of Lulu, the one that a bunch of us saw in the Met HD yesterday, when it goes to ENO next fall will have not only Sarah Connolly as Geschwitz but also, rumor has it, Brenda Rae in the title role . . .
